My daughter is getting bullied at her school- we have spoken to the teachers, principals, and parents about it. My husband was in the Principal's office just this morning again talking about it. When I picked her up from school, she tells me she got hit and punched by a classmate while the teachers were not supervising the students. My husband and I have taught her to fight back but she's so kind hearted she doesn't want to hurt anybody. I need help finding a good lawyer in SC who can take my case because I know going this route is the only way the problem will get solved.
this is actually a really great idea. Have not seen it implemented but I bet it would really cut down on things.
Lawyers generally will not sue the schools.
Some things:
1) Many classrooms have cameras now.
2) The school should investigate whether they have witnesses to these events. The child should state who hit them and who saw it.
3) Take that info to the school.
My daughter’s entire freshmen floor was being bullied by some thugs. My wife called the college and gave them the names of the perps. The ringleader was tossed out of school that week.
Are the bullies “Amish.”
Tell the principal you’re looking for a lawyer - that might get her or his attention.....
Home school. It’s easier than you think. 1 hour of one on one is about the whole time kids get in a full day in a classroom. I don’t know you but if you’re on Free Republic, you’re smarter than the average teacher.

Take it to the school board.
Proust is right. You need to write down and document every detail you can.
I been thinking about why this post touched me. When I was a little boy about 8, an older boy in the neighborhood bullied me. Pushed me around. Humiliated me because I was younger and weaker. I complained to my dad who responded he’ll keep doing it until you make him stop. Quite frankly I wanted him to solve the problem, but it was clear he wouldn’t do anything.
One day at the ball field, I sneaked up my bully and hit him in the back of his head with a baseball bat. The bullying stopped. He got the message that he could beat me up anytime he wanted, but he would never know when I would strike back.
A few years ago, i went to my 50th high school reunion and ran into him (he had stayed back a few years to get back in my class). He bought me a drink and said it was fun growing up together. He was very sentimental. I was touched.
I know I have posted this before, but when my younger brother was being bullied on the way home from school every day, my father got the names of the bullies. Then he waited around unobtrusively to watch it happen. Went up to the bullies and said, “I know your fathers.”
End of bullying.
I admit this wouldn’t work everywhere.
If there is a School Resource Officer assigned to your daughters school you should start with him/her. The SROs are very aware of the bullies and troublemakers in school and will advise you how best to proceed to safeguard your daughter...
Dont bother with the teachers, 90% of them dont care diddly squat about the kids...
The punching is an assault, file charges.
I wouldn’t send a child to a place where physical security can’t be reasonably guaranteed.
If this was a boy I’d say he needs to learn to fight back, but that’s not a reasonable expectation of a girl who is likely at much more of a physical disadvantage.
If you’re speaking with the school several times and they’re not taking it seriously, then I don’t see how finding a new school is avoidable.
I would not continue to send the girl to this school. If the bullies have learned they can attack her and get away with it, escalation risk is high.
“1 hour of one on one is about the whole time kids get in a full day in a classroom.”
Really? Because I don’t remember getting that much in a year.
Either change schools, move, or hire a football player to protect her.
HSLDA will just tell you to homeschool/ not how to deal with bullies in publics.
And the sarcasm about homeschooling is bc??
Exactly. You are not a prisoner. You don’t need to fight, just get the heck outta Dodge. You can sue and get out, but there is no need to fight it out and protect yourself. Sounds like a crummy situation. Why not just move on?
The days of hit a bully because they are cowards are over. Theyll wait for you with their whole crew. I dont know the solution, but I dont think that one will work.
