Yep. That's the current conspiracy theory. Just answer one question if you would; shoulder fired missiles are solid propellant which leaves a white trail. The "witnesses" said they saw a reddish trail going up towards the plane. The NTSB reports that the fuel tank was leaking and the exhaust gasses from the engines ignited it at a distance from the plane and shot upwards following the fuel leakage trail.

End of story, end of conspiracy.

Nadler is investigating. Remember, Trump bought Eastern Airlines and it went under. Had to be a plan of the Donald’s. Better look at his taxes. //Sarc//

Very shady goings on with this thing. The fuel tank spark was complete idiocy and only a fool would buy it.

It was a good enough lie to fool people who do not know anything about the subject, which is most people.

Sure. Do you really believe a US Navy ship with 300 people could keep that secret? Your husband’s ‘military friends’ are morons.

I beg your pardon!

It was an electrical shot in the center fuel tank.

The absolute proof of this is that the world's entire fleet was promptly grounded until each plane could be retrofitted and recertified.

...oh wait...

Or it was accidentally shot down by the US Navy. My husband’s military friends tend to agree that it was a US missile that did this.

I don't know if the US made the missile that shot it down, but I do know it was former Republican Guard members turned mercenary who were hired by wealthy Iranian family members of the Iran Air 655 incident. They wanted revenge, and these former Republican guard soldiers gave it to them.

Take poor insulation between center fuel tank the and air conditioners, add in an undetected short circuit on a line that connects to a sensor in the tank. Mix with a hot day causing the AC to run during a hour ground delay, which heated the fuel above the temperature where it could explode, and kaboom...

I've argued this subject before. Looked up the ignition energy requirements for the Jet fuel from subsequent tests. No combination of events could produce the necessary energy required to get the Jet fuel to ignite.

The lab report could get it to ignite only by raising the temperature to a crazy level, and then using a horrendous amount of electrical energy to get it to initiate.

The discussion is somewhere in my commentary from a few years ago. It has links to the lab report on what sort of energy was needed to ignite Jet fuel. Way beyond anything that could be accidentally produced from any wiring going into the tank.

Read Nelson Demille’s “NIGHT FALL” if interested in this subject. Very illuminating.

Trouble is, the information I have instantly identifies how I got it. I can't even say what it is, because it would immediately point a finger in a certain direction.

Maybe after enough time has passed something can be said, but I can't say anything as of yet.

My husband’s military friends are people he got to know over the course of his years in the Marines.

And who says it was a ship? US submarines of the time had AA missiles, smaller Navy boats/ships could be similarly armed, and the parts that the government was looking for at the time were consistent with a Stinger and not a Russian system.

A Bayliner could have launched a Stinger.

Ridiculous explanation of fuel leaking from the tank and being ignited by engine exhaust. 747’s have a fuel jettison system that dumps fuel out the back of the wing tanks and it doesn’t catch on fire and blow up the aircraft inflight.

Tease. ;)

Odd situation for me. What I know absolutely convinces me this was a shoot down, but I cannot say what it is because people would immediately realize how I got the information, and there would very likely be serious problems for my source. I've promised not to tell, and it drives me nuts, because I think the public should know about this.

If nothing else, the public can ask for de-classification after 25 or 50 years, depending.

Let us hope it occurs sooner than later.

(PS - love your handle. Great for a seeker of truth.)

Thanks. Coolest handle I could think of at the time. :)

I also believe the Iran terrorist attack explanation.

Marine surface radar shows a lone unaccounted for boat speeding away from the crash site while all the other boats in the area were rushing towards the crash site.
