"This is a stain on horse racing that will last for a long time."

I agree 1000%. It is heinous. Country House was never remotely encumbered. They put up a horse who wasn't fouled. The rules in Ky are very clear on that.

The stewards rewarded Mott -- who made an extremely poor statement during the wait by alluding that for the same 1-path drift 'they (the stewards) would take down a maiden claimer on a weekday', knowing full well that Maximum Security started his career in a maiden claimer.

Mott can eat a big bag of horse shit. Most classless statement by a Hall of Famer I have ever heard, and that goes the distance against the garbage trash talk Lukas and Whittingham used to puke.

Furthermore, the karma Mott has laid against Country House in the Preakness -- that burro will be up the track while Max is likely 1st or 2nd.

Ditto. A rule was broke and to not have any “above the rules”, he was disqualified and the runner up named winner. Like the said, any other race that’s the way it is handled. The rules are for the safety of horses and jockeys.

Holy cow! I was in a raffle, and blind picked Country House! Who would think a horse with 65-1 odds would win!

I guess there is a good thing that the Electoral College does not apply to horse racing. /s

There was a foul by the on the track winner , even if not against the awarded winner, and they applied the rule’s penalty. The “Best Horse” wasn’t above the law. So I credit this race to the rule of law. Now apply this precedent to Hillary et al!

The odds don’t matter, it’s where the horse actually was in the race.

The horse that was given the win wasn’t even affected by the bump....but....he had big bucks at stake.

I guess 2nd place kids all over the country can start crying foul against actual winners.....and, become the *winner*.

#2 was fading, already...but...hey, it’s up to the courts, now.

Great synopsis.

So the conservative horse won, but the democrat horse wouldn’t accept that it lost, so they named Bob Mueller special counsel to investigate and he decided to disqualify the conservative horse for colluding with a Russian horse and the race was handed to the loser.

~~~~~~
Excellent!!
It’s like giving Hildebeast, who had NO CHANCE of ever being the winner, the win.
NBC’s production; the pimp host, the man child hosts, unable to wipe rain from the camera lens, and a general lack of dignity made for painful watching. No wonder they produce the propaganda they do.
By tomorrow morning, the Clintons and the lame-stream media will be claiming Trump moved over on Hillary during the 2016 election.
Me neither now.
Country House had more votes.
Maximum Security WON the Electorate!
They disqualified him -Whoa!!
Does anybody have the text of the rule? I want to know how much interference is needed for a DQ. This is a historic decision and a clear explanation of the reasoning behind is needed.
True, but it doesn’t change the fact that the odds in a horse race don’t matter.
Since Country House was in end place, of course they had stakes if MS was disqualified.
It doesn’t make any sense to try to compare this to an election. Taking your anger of the dems on this is silly.
The rules of not cutting into other horses is for the safety of the horses and jockeys. A horse race winner isn’t about who is the best liked. It is not a popularity contest. Someone everyone hates could win. By being the fastest. Or second to one that was disqualified.
While we all wish for our favorites, it doesn’t make them run faster or not mess up.
#metoojockey Says not so silly. The Dems believe every claim should be heard. Numerous times in the past this checking or moving to the outside didn't matter. You need to notice that this has never happened before in Churchill Downs history. Or do you think no horse ever moved out of the inside until now... With the second place horse at 65-1 odds.
It does happen in races. This was a first it was called for the Derby race. Very lucky one or more horses or jockeys wasn’t seriously hurt. Whether it was right to point out a violation is an odd complaint. A lot of money at stake. Rules are rules. Unless you are a Democrat.
