Welcome to the next part of “Only in Russia” weird and interesting daily shots from Russia edition. Here are some selected photos from all around the country. Every photo has its own quirk.

Using a tractor as a crane is probably not that bad idea.

Even owning a Smart car won’t stop you from towing trailers.

Sometimes street ads are sort of over the top.

When babushka has too many time on her hands.

Sleighs in summer is a solution too.

Spiderman is arrested.

Moscow city is a city of contrasts.

Dirty snow on a roadside makes benches useless in winter.

Ghm.

Meet Masha, from Masha and the Bear cartoon.

Sometimes even a new manhole cover opening ceremony is an event, when you have no other news around.

This is called Samovar and this is a Samovar monument. However there is also some Elephant on the background.

A manhole inside the supermarket.

Because Russia.

When there are no cups.

Curious case of Benjamin Putin.

Check out her machete though..

Are you sure this is safe?

I got lowered into a pit on a backhoe....to protect me from the sand walls if they should collapse.

Our utility company uses a bucket all the time...this is just a little improvising.

I would have never seen the machete.

That one would be a cutie in almost any culture!

It has its drawbacks. My dad let me sit in the Ferguson tractor bucket and he raised me up high. It was pretty neat until my younger brother, sitting on dad’s lap, reached over and pulled the dump lever. Look out below.

Seeing architecture like this and what is being built in Asia, makes me realize America is stuck in the nineteen fifties. I don’t know if it’s the lack of money, the lack of imagination, of the lack of ambition, but when you country looks like a metastasized Buffalo, NY, you’re not trying hard enough.

Washing vegetables in the laundromat sounds efficient. Better than in the shower, like Kramer.

I have too. Except I had my Stihl chainsaw. He lifted me up to cut branches off a broken pine tree that was near power lines. I then cut the top of the tree off. If we had cut the tree from the ground, it would have fallen on the wires. It was much safer than trying to do it from a ladder. Its not that much different than a bucket truck.

Yeah, I’ve done that deal with the front loader. Went back to see what the deal is with whatever machete... still can’t find it.
