Todays Cryptogram
FMTMA XE SLG HGZDMBAP, SLG GZGE BAG SLG LBNNGAE, SLG EMCT XE SLG YXBKM JXSL NBKZ ESAXKVE. JBEEXTZ HBKPXKEHZ
You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications, unfortunately they are copyrighted so we can't use them here. So, we're just going to make up our own.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
Solving the puzzle under 8 minutes is good, under 6 very good, under 4 excellent and under 2 "you're a pro!"
Those of you looking for an added challenge can try to solve one sentence or even one word at a time, i.e. solve the entire first line, then go to the second line etc.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
Solution to our last puzzle:
IF I COULD SAY IT IN WORDS, THERE WOULD BE NO REASON TO PAINT. EDWARD HOPPER
2 and 1/2 min. Music on a Monday morning.
LOL... not only am I getting an education, I’m getting a definite sense of what you like.
Tough one for me until I got one of the longer words then fell into place.
About 8 minutes !
Sorry. Forgot the width attributes.
English is second language, yes?
15 min. Very hard for me today.
two minutes.
Used my ‘got to’ three letter word first then guessed the second word which made the fifteenth word obvious. The sixth word then opened up the CG and it was playing hopscotch from then on.
If I had focused on the author’s first name, this CG would have taken me forever.
Did we lose a brain cell?
We were up to 71 two days ago.
No worries. How else are we to find the specks of dust? I found three. Fun :)
71...thank you for pointing this out.
We need to hit a hundred!!!!
Good job. Not an easy one IMO...
Non...Did I submit some bad grammar?
Not you. The quote seems awkward. Translation issues, maybe.
Are the rest of you just copying the cryptogram onto paper? I’m used to doing these thing electronically.
GEE!!! had to go to the well 4 times, finally finished BUT the completed product makes as much sense as the cryptography.....
Don’t recognize the statement (sure there is a meaning somewhere there) and definitely don’t recall the ‘quoter’ and with that name I surely would have (or should have) remembered it...<: <: <:
