Google made changes on my phone I can't stand!

I just updated to Oreo OS on my gorgeous Samsung Galaxy S8 and them sum beeches at Google changed all my icons to some book chit with frames and there is zero possibility to change back to original theme and icons.

They also effed my texts and a few other things.

I can't stand this cartoonish theme buttons!

They are for 4-7 year olds and took my very professional looking phone down to etch-a-sketch looking crap.

Rant off...

I will upgrade to iPhone on my birthday and Samsung/Google can go to hell...

Wasted quite a bit of money upgrading to this phone, only to have them down grade it

Oh, just realized they also dropped the video player to some asinine klugee thing as well.

Sure, I can go download other apps and customize but, damnit! It was fine the way it was and I dont have time to create new themes

FOAD Google... You made me waste hundreds of dollars.

Plicks....

I most certainly did not give you permission to eff up my phone...

Not sure what you are looking for but try the following.
We have only cell phones in our home and do just fine.
Major storm damage can cause problems regardless of type.

FIOS landline — fiber-optic network using traditional landline phones and your existing phone jacks to deliver

If it’s FIOS, then it is probably Verizon. I had my land line at that address from 1983. I got my internet service in 2006, I think by that time it was Verizon. And when my land line service was destroyed by my neatnik renter it was Verizon that said I could not get my land line back, but could buy a 24 hours of capacity backup battery. At some point in the far past it was AT&T or Bell Atlantic or perhaps they were the same. I don’t know if Verizon took one of them over or if I had to use Verizon to get the internet, however, I also have Verizon at another property I bought in 1967, so maybe it was a buyout of the older companies. I don’t like to change things if I don’t have to.

Our landline is with AT&T. It’s more dependable than our cell phones area. When we need support for the cells, it’s the landline we use to call Verizon. Every year I hate cellular more. Every time they make “improvements”, things get worse.

I have not used Gmail, but here is how AOL and Yahoo handle mail once you have answered it. At AOL you have the option of clicking “Keep as New” and it goes right back to the place where you found it. If you forget and want to keep it as new you will find it at the next option directly under New Mail which is Old Mail. On the other hand if you want the record of a chain of back and forth comments you will also find it under Sent Mail. And you have the option of sending it to files you might make like Family Mail, My Lawyer, Office Contacts, etc.

Yahoo keeps the mail you sent from at New Mail unless you send it to some other file. I don’t know if this helps or might make you want to use either of these free services.

Thanks. This is very helpful information.
I may look into using AOL for my emails.
Due to PC tendancies, Yahoo would not be my first choice, but when it comes to online convenience, never say never.

Glad I could help. I use AOL for my personal communications and Yahoo for my social issues contacts.

The new Samsung update killed my location tracking, among other things, including the graphics.

I’m gonna do an update later this week

I figured out what changes they made and how easy this to change them to settings you’re more comfortable with

I just think they could have left it the way it was in the update

I agree. Don’t mess with what’s working.
