I just updated to Oreo OS on my gorgeous Samsung Galaxy S8 and them sum beeches at Google changed all my icons to some book chit with frames and there is zero possibility to change back to original theme and icons.
They also effed my texts and a few other things.
I can't stand this cartoonish theme buttons!
They are for 4-7 year olds and took my very professional looking phone down to etch-a-sketch looking crap.
Rant off...
I will upgrade to iPhone on my birthday and Samsung/Google can go to hell...
Wasted quite a bit of money upgrading to this phone,only to have them down grade it
Oh, just realized they also dropped the video player to some asinine klugee thing as well.
Sure, I can go download other apps and customize but, damnit! It was fine the way it was and I dont have time to create new themes

Several months ago Hotmail made changes that really slowed down their email system. Stupid round icons for this and that. What bothered me is they advertised it as what I asked for and they gave it, or similar. There was no option to go back to the old system.
Then a few weeks later it just went back to being more usable.
For some reason these companies think they have to change stuff the way car manufacturers change body styles.

I hang on to my landline like grim death. Our internet provider tried to convince us to go with their “land line” part of a bundle. It isn’t landline; it’s FIOS or something. Still requires electricity. Outages are common in our neck of the woods and we use our landline a LOT. It’s hard to find phones, though, and I scour thrift shops for then.
Windows 10 did the same thing to my laptop during the latest mandatory “update”. Handles like a tin-lizzy on the freeway.
You're kidding, right? New corded phones are easily available at almost any large retail chain, or go on the Internet and search for them.
We haven’t found them at Walmarts in our area for a few years, and we don’t go to any other retail stores much. Amazon sells them, but they’re light-weight cheap crap. We prefer the old substantial ones.
And that’s not all!
Just wait until you discover that Google now allows “those d@mn kids” to walk across your lawn!

With a little poking around you can find lots of different “mods” you can put on your device. You’ll have to learn a little about modding your device, but, hey: we’re never to old to learn something new, right?
I’m upset they appear to have completely disabled the always-on date/time/notification screen.

I for one am so happy that our dark tech overlords have provided us with these technological wonders that make our lives so much more productive!
Am no longer a strategic operative and would love to switch. Does it work with TracFone?
It’s better than an avocado colored rotary phone and a child as the remote control for the TV...
I’m guessing they made the changes in the first world so we could beta the adjustments they’ll need to make for the 3rd world...
