Wildwood Mayor Says Kate Smith’s ‘God Bless America’ Will Continue To Play On Boardwalk (NJ)

And yet the same song was also sung by the world celebrated black singer Paul Robeson during the same era as Kate Smith ..... And he is still being honored by the Post Office, street murals, media tributes and countless college buildings:

Kate Smith, the Songbird of the South, was a Christian patriot who was loved by millions. Comrade Robeson, on the other hand was a hard-core Stalinist who shilled for the Vozhd and even betrayed his friend Itzik Peffer, an imprisoned Soviet poet, when he refused to act on his behalf and spurned Peffer's entreaties to tell the world about Stalin's human rights abuses. Yet no statues of the vile traitor Robeson will be coming down soon.

Bobby Clarke is supportive of keeping God Bless America and is politically conservative including once criticizing liberal Ken Dryden a former goalie who got political few years ago and who compared the Flyers of the 70s to right wing politicians. Clarke blasted the PC move. Holmgren seems like a typical Minnesotan.

The traditional Italian-Americans from Long Island sing God Bless America all the time at patriotic gatherings. All of them know it.

Bobby Clarke is/was one of the greatest examples of all time how hard work and grit can bring success at any level. Unfortunately he lacks the humility for self awareness and continues to prove his mediocrity at the administrative level! I accuse him of enabling Holmgren as like animals. They both have no business anywhere near the front office of a minor league team, let alone a pro team! Two words... Rod Brind’Amour! Two more words...Sergei Bobrovsky!
