Former New York Times reporter David Cay Johnston has forged a nice little late-in-life career as one of America's most vitriolic Trump haters. He's written a Trump-hating book, It’s Even Worse Than You Think, and he regularly pops up on MSNBC whenever a dose of anti-Trump venom is desired.
Appearing on today's AM Joy, Johnston reached back in history to slur the President, claiming that his grandfather, Friedrich Trump, built the first Trump fortune by "running whorehouses."
That is a claim that is unverified at best. Gwenda Blair wrote the most definitive biography of the Trump family. And as per this Washington Post article, Blair "was careful not to say that Trump ran brothels. I think we don’t quite know that.”
In 2015, the liberals at Snopes.com addressed the question: "Did Donald Trump’s Grandfather Make His Fortune in Prostitution?" Snopes ruled: "Mostly False."

At Snopes, “mostly false” means true.
I don’t think it’s controversial.
So what of he did? Go back to origins of many family fortunes and you might find the foundation was on something morally wrong or illegal.
A lot of family fortunes began in commerce in some questionable enterprises. Look at John D, Rockefeller, who got rich by selling that line of nasty old petroleum products, and went on to really dirty up the world.
Grandpa Trump saw a need and filled it.

Both his grandmothers and his mother worked in Trump's grandfather's whorehouses.
And his sisters, his wife, his daughters and granddaughters all make money for the family "the old-fashioned way"... ;-)

Definitely an impeachable offense. Lets take everyone’s family back as far as they can be traced and charge the present family with any crimes their ancestors may have committed by today’s laws, standards, political views, and social memes. Seems fair, eh?

Aside: what was the GS rating of a hooker? Did they get federal civil service benefits like retirement? Also, how many congressional fact finding missions were there?
