A student at a South Carolina middle school was taken to a hospital Friday after getting sick and losing consciousness, the Union County Sheriffs Office said.
The principal of Sims Middle School searched the 13-year-old students book bag and found what might have been responsible for making him so ill alcohol, and a lot of it, according to an incident report.

At the minimum, he should be mixing those with a coke at his age.
My Daddy taught me, when at a party...
2 Oz EtOH in first hour
1 Oz EtOH per hour thereafter
Don’t get hammered, you will regret it
If he’s buying in the mini-bottles....he’s paying 200-percent more than he should be paying. Someone needs to sit down with the kid and explain economics, and drinking moderation.
Can’t hold his liquor at 13?......................
A kid like this is in big trouble. We lost one or two like him in the sixth or seventh grade. For a small number of people, alcohol is something they just cannot touch.
He needs to report to the nearest AA group.
Had my first beer at 6.
Never touched the stuff again until I was 18 and legal, at the time..................
At the age of 13, a friend of mine stole a little bit from each of the bottles in his parents’ liquor cabinet, so they wouldn’t notice. He put each into one bottle, creating a 15-20 item mixture ranging from whiskey to gin to creme-de-menthe. He then drank it before some school party or roller-skating party - and immediately threw up
It did not make the news.
Where did he get them? Daddy’s liquor cabinet? His pony bottle collection?.................
9 mini whiskey bottles
assume 80 proof
A little more that 1 pint of vodka
Thats a lot...
Guys don’t buy pony bottles that much anymore. I’ll bet the kid shop-lifted at some local grocery/gas station.
Which leads to the question, why do people even buy them? Well nobody likes to talk about it but the reason people buy them is so that they can drink and drive without bringing attention to themselves. Also, they can hide their illicit drinking from their wife (or husband) by pitching the empty bottles out the window before they get home.
I know this is true because I do a lot of walking and by the roadside, you see those empty bottles everywhere.
“Oak tree you’re in my way.”
Most places those things are not accessible to minors. ................
“...why do people even buy them?”
~~~
I have bought them before when I wanted to sample some new stuff without committing to a large quantity. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever found anything new that I liked that way, but there is a more inane motive for purchasing them.
Grandpa’s house, it says.
That’s a lot............for a 200 pound adult male, much less a 13 year old!...............
