If he’s buying in the mini-bottles....he’s paying 200-percent more than he should be paying. Someone needs to sit down with the kid and explain economics, and drinking moderation.

All the liquor stores around here have those mini bottles behind the counter and yes, they are way overpriced as you could get a 750ml bottle for probably 1/3 the price (you would have to pay for an equivalent amount of mini bottles.

Which leads to the question, why do people even buy them? Well nobody likes to talk about it but the reason people buy them is so that they can drink and drive without bringing attention to themselves. Also, they can hide their illicit drinking from their wife (or husband) by pitching the empty bottles out the window before they get home.

I know this is true because I do a lot of walking and by the roadside, you see those empty bottles everywhere.

Until not that long ago, mini bottles were to only way to buy liquor by the drink in SC.
