I’d be happy if they cleared the raccoons and opossums out of our backyard. I’ve put down nearly a pound of cayenne pepper and 2 gallons of ammonia. Even shooting them in the butt with a BB gun hasn’t convinced them to move on.
But the more important question is can Cassowaries be trained to hunt Democrats? If so I propose breeding locally. Pratt’s Wayne has a large area for the Sandhill Cranes. Maybe we could portion some of it off, breed them, train them, and then turn them loose on Springfield.
Hell, nothing else has worked. Might as well give it a shot.

Hogs are tough.
The cassowary plumage is colorful, maybe they could drop them from helicopters in the Chicago parks, the locals can BBQ them and make headdresses.
A .22 >1000 fps air rifle with “destroyer” pellets will do the trick. For the varmints, that is. Granted, you might have to bury a dead varmint or several. Or, Adobo style, done right, the raccoons are actually fairly tasty, tho’ if they are not in a rural setting, I’d hesitate at that.
REALLY effective are the dog-proof coon traps - but then you still have to deal with the trapped opossum or raccoon.

I recall a news show where they interviewed this old guy. Coon dogs baying out back, him playing blues on his guitar in his run-down home. Made extra money hunting raccoons and selling their meat.

By far the greatest number of attacks (109) involved soliciting of food by the cassowary. In areas where humans have taken to feeding cassowaries, some cassowaries act boldly and aggressively in expectation of being fed and will run up to or chase people, sometimes kicking if no food is offered. Kofron (1999) reported that such behaviour was not recorded in his study area prior to 1985. Human feeding would thus appear to have modified cassowary behaviour and in fact cassowaries are naturally wary and highly unlikely to attack without provocation.

Or was the "he" here the tourist, who was being overly affectionate towards a wild beast?
He shoulda stuck to swans or barnyard animals.
