I know this has been called to his attention yet he insists on saying it incorrectly.

Yes, all of that. And split infinitives and ending sentences with prepositions. and using apostrophes to indicate plural. (The apostrophe is for possessives, humans.) And any of a hundred other little violations. If I were an SJW, I would probably call them “microaggressions against the English language.”

It wouldn’t be too bad if he did it on rare occasions. But he does it all the time. It’s a Hannity cliche.

I like Sean. He’s done some very good work. He does tend to get repetitive, and he has about the worst grammar of any of the major talk-show hosts. It grates. he’d be more effective if he spoke a bit more correctly, IMO.

And he and Beck re the best storytellers on the radio.

Yes, I agree with both of those. If you could care less, then you care. “Couldn’t care less” is the phrase that conveys the intended meaning of “I don’t care.”

People: Revert is already back. To revert back would be to revert and then revert again.

“Shrimp scampi.” Scampi is the Italian word for shrimp. You’re telling me “shrimp shrimp.” Scampi is a shrimp dish. including the word shrimp is unnecessary and redundant. Like “free gift.” Yo, humons (Ferengi word): If it’s a gift, it’s free (at least to you.) If I paid for it, it’s a purchase, not a gift.

Or plural subject after singular object. Using “they,” “them,” or “their” to denote a singular of uncertain gender. Him or her. His or hers. if it’s one of those, then it’s not both. Therefore, it’s not “theirs.”

2. It heats water to make it hot. That means it’s a water heater, not a hot water heater.

3. It doesn’t heat hot water; hot water is already heated.

Just use water heater.
