Why Does Sean Hannity insist on Speaking Incorrectly? (Vanity)

I know this has been called to his attention yet he insists on saying it incorrectly.

I'm talking about him continually saying "unpeeling an onion". I heard a guest on his show correct him,yet he continues to say it. Is he being ignorant it just contemptible?

Everybody knows you screw the top off an onion. Unpeeling is something you would do a grape (or raisin) and also a beer. Also when I get in the car I unpeel the door and then cork it before I stab the key out of the ignition and clean my wings.

He also habitually uses “double subjects” in his sentences, which shows me he wasn’t paying attention in English class.

An example would be, “John Solomon, he’ll be on the show tonight.”

It sounds like an insignificant thing, but it makes Sean sound not as smart as he is. And it gets “under the skin” of English majors like me. Some of us care about the language.

Hannity is someone who often says the opposite of what he means. Not on purpose, his mouth just gets ahead of his brain. It’s easy to overlook if you know what he’s trying to say, but if you are paying close attention it can be comical or annoying.
