So,
I live in the city. And every couple of months, Id get a slow leak in one of my tires. I figured that was normal as I work in an area with a highly unusual amount of metal shavings on the pavement.
Well, last week, I had another slow leak, so I went to the tire store:
Hey! Mr. Hawthorne! because if they had a frequent customer program, Id have a full set of NASCAR tires. The co-owner takes a look at it and says Youve already got 3 patches and two nails in there. I can put another couple of patches on it, but you really shouldnt have more than three.
Now, I dont advertise my Conservatism, but in a deep blue precinct, folks just seem to know. (I also happen to be a member of a profession that liberals despise and illegals hate. Ive been seen in semi or full uniform at times).
So, Im not moving, out of the question. Any suggestions on how to catch the offender on this caper? Again, to help visualise, row homes, one next to the other, on street parking. (The local gendarmes are sympathetic)
FReepers are the greatest resource on earth for this stuff, thanks in advance, and any humor will be welcome.
Can you park your car in the garage, where it would be safe?
Don’t leave it in the driveway or the street.
HD Cameras?
one of the battery operated motion sensor cameras?
Any place yu can set up a game camera? They can run for a long time but need to be hidden.
bookmarked this may be a fun one
On to becoming warmest year yet on record.
My home security system has HD cameras with IR illumination. They record automatically when motion is detected. Not too expensive.
Get some.

It might not be political...could be personal, which I find more troubling. I would sit & think about who in my life might want to cause me harm.
Look at cameras on the rear view mirror with Bluetooth WiFi to your house so you can actually see the face of the person involved.
Do you drive somewhere most days (work, school, etc.)? I was wondering if it was happening away from where you live.
Consider run-flat tires, next time you need new rubber.
They claim OK for 100 miles flat.
Some new cars come with them.
Much appreciated!
Oftentimes, I can’t park directly in front of my house. I suspected the AP editor across the street, but he knocked on my door, re-introduced himself, and told me my back windows were down, so I don’t think it’s him.
Plus he’s on the side that gets flattened the most.
Is there some sort of camera I could attach to the underside of my vehicle? Probably I’d need more than one, or maybe I’m not going in the right direction here.
Anyone in your hood a roofer that brings home his dump trailer?
Are you a building inspector?
Do you park off road?
No, but a great question.
I vary my routes home religiously and the times too. Employer has been insistent and accommodating about that.
And not one of my co-workers, I'm a SUPER nice guy and liked by all.
I have my cameras mounted outside my home and can point them anywhere I like manually . There are PTZ (Pan, Tilt,Zoom) models which you can operate remotely. Theyre considerably more expensive but work well.
There are some wireless models but the range can be fairly limited. The main constraint will be your budget.
Good luck.

I wish it was that easy, that’s why I tapped the tremendous brain trust that is we FReepers.
No, none of them apply, but thanks for your input.
Put an Obama 08 and ‘12 sticker on your bumper and windows.
Its offensive, but consider it urban camouflage.
We want to hope for the best from people, but banish that thought from your head, a significant minority are cretinous and you need to protect yourself from them.
Thanks Lurker!
I think that’s the fix.
You wouldn’t happen to have a link to get me started in the right direction?
Much appreciated.
