Beer drinkers celebrated and were happy to be able to purchase beer again for the first time in thirteen years. National Beer Day is observed annually on April 7th. Hooray beer!

Yes, I like Red Stripe. Also Anchor Steam. Both ten bones a six, but as a treat...yay! Guinness Extra Stout, too.

FROZEN BEER / sunbeltfoodservice.com/

Sold at Epcot.

Fresh on the heels of a launch in Japan, Kirin Brewery has unleashed its latest beer innovation—Kirin Ichiban Frozen Beer—on Los Angeles, just in time for the summer heat.

Kirin Ichiban Frozen Beer is Kirin’s 100 percent malt, first press draft beer topped with a frozen beer foam (23 degrees) that keeps the beer chilled for 30 minutes. The frosty brew, made with an exclusive Kirin Ichiban Frozen Beer machine, is available at Dodger Stadium and select restaurants and bars in Los Angeles.

Made with a patented frozen stirring technology called “frozen agitation,” a process where air is blown into the beer as it is continuously stirred and chilled, Kirin says the frozen foam provides a smooth but unique “cool and refreshing” texture, and acts as a lid to maintain the temperature at which it was poured.

“The Frozen Beer was first introduced last year in Tokyo and quickly became a huge hit, served at more than 1,300 restaurants in Japan,” said Randy Higa, president of Kirin Brewery of America. “After test-launches in Honolulu and Orlando and overwhelmingly positive feedback, Kirin Ichiban Frozen Beer is ready for a larger presence in the U.S. We couldn’t think of a better place for this beer to make its California debut than sunny Los Angeles.”

It’s odd, craft beers are everywhere in this college town, but just try to find a cold Stroh’s... My first beer, and 3.2 to boot!

It’s the one bright spot in his entire miserable Presidency.

Beer yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) is, technically, a fungus, you know. ;-)
