Got one of those unwanted solicitation phone calls today. Woman asked if I wanted lower shipping rates? I said, "Let me ask you a question first." Did you vote for Trump? pause on the line
.. Than, I said I only do business with people who voted for Trump. ...
She Hung up!
What if she had said yes?
Started get calls in which caller id should MY phone number and Directory listing. Called may times.
Claim IP address was compromised.
That would be trouble!!
It’s a tough question for salesperson. Is the person asking cause they like Trump or hate Trump? :)
That looked painful. Funny, but painful.
Thanks lol
Going to forward this
I’m definitely gonna use this.
I’m glad I answered. I almost had my social security number terminated.
I got a robocall in Chinese this week. These scam calls are totally out of control.
“What if she had said yes?”
I would have then lied, and said, “I don’t do business with people who voted for Trump”.
Very untrue, but if it gets rid of telemarketers, all’s fair....;)
They call my house and cell phone all the time, we have nomorerobo on our land line but they still sometimes get through, you can tell by the way the phone rings that its most likely a telemarketer but they always use local numbers so sometimes we just answer the phone thinking maybe its the doctors office or something and then you hear “Do you want to lower your mortgage rate” and hang up

Land line or cell?
Yes I got 2 of them in Chinese as well.
I now answer most calls and just say nothing...to make sure it’s a real person...when they ask “Is this “goodness”? I ask...who’s this...then I determine whether to listen further. Otherwise they get blocked.
Beyond irritating. We get so many robo calls that I’m about ready to cut the phone lines.
LOL. Good one.
I deal with them by having caller ID and don’t pick up the phone, unless I recognize the caller name or number. If I don’t pick it up, it goes into voicemail, so if there is anything important they can leave a message. Telemarketers just hang up, when they get voicemail.

No. The caller is using VOIP - making calls via the Internet using Apps like Skype of devices like Magic Jack.
Using VOIP and with a little tech knowledge the VOIP caller can “spoof” the number being called from and the caller ID to be litterally anyhting they want to make up. Inside the Internet the Internet does not care, and by the time the call gets to the landline or cell phone system the fact that that number was spoofed is not known.
If you got a call that indicated the call was from you at your own-same number (as if you were calling yourself), the “called from” info was definitely spoofed using VOIP with a call that orginated from the Internet.
I am not sure we can clean up this mess unles VOIP is killed or its protocols are revised GLOBALLY.
