You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications, unfortunately they are copyrighted so we can't use them here. So, we're just going to make up our own.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter.
For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.
Solving the puzzle under 8 minutes is good, under 6 very good, under 4 excellent and under 2 "you're a pro!"
Those of you looking for an added challenge can TRY TO SOLVE ONE SENTENCE AT A TIME, E.G. solve the entire first line, then go to the second line etc.

President Trump might have to shut down more than the border before it’s all over.
It’s really ugly out here in Cali-at least in my neck of the woods. I hear it’s not as bad in the rural areas but I still want out.
I trust President Trump will do the best he can for us regardless of the opposition. I will support him even if he has to resort to martial law. If he does, it won’t be lightly. But I pray it never comes to that, just like I pray there’s no civil war.
These people who say bring it on-they haven’t really thought things out. We’re not going to be watching it on TV and eating popcorn. It could be a lawless wasteland for a while-it could turn into Venezuela or worse.
Nevertheless, I’ll keep praying and hope for the best. I trust our President. I believe he was chosen by God.

Has anyone reached the point yet where they can occasionally write out the cryp (or just look at it) and from the patterns solve the puzzle? I haven’t, but sometimes a few phrases fall right in place.
That’s something I got out of an uber-lib professor’s film class. The guy did some odd work.

I have found that if my first ‘guess’ is correct, I tend to whip right through it.
Howsomeever, if I stumble on the first two or three ‘guesses’ I hit a mind block that usually lasts till the next one appears.....
Last week I ‘guessed wrong’ a few days and accomplished nothing then turned around and went less than 3 to solve several in a row...
Definitely a ‘hit or miss’ for me....
