Mary Kay Letourneau and Vili Fualaau may have given their relationship a second chance, but after just over two decades together, the couple is getting closer to officially calling it quits.

Both E! News and People have confirmed that the pair filed documents with the King County Superior Court in Feb. 2019 to move forward with private arbitration and finalize their split. This comes nearly two years after Fualaau first filed for separation back in 2017 when they had already been married for 12 years, but remained together.

The victim was only a couple of years older than their oldest son, IIRC; I thought they were in the same school.

Yes, he was a victim; never mind the macho BS - he was a father at 14 because he was molested by his teacher (who was about 35 at the time). If the genders were reversed, nobody would even dispute this.

“What isn’t widely publicized is the significantly higher rate of sexual molestations occurring in America’s PUBLIC SCHOOLS.”

Bill Donohue of the Catholic League pointed this out around 2002 when the Boston Globe broke the Boston molesters story. He didn’t defend the homo predators in the Church, but pointed out specific stories in which the NYC school system had five sexual assaults in one week. That is once per day, when you consider the school week...and it received NO coverage in the media.

Female teacher raped her student, got pregnant, then married him.

Yes, at 14, what does a kid know. Would any other 14 year old boy say “no”? I doubt it. He was probably flattered by her attention, and she took advantage of his innocence. She should still be in prison. Who knows what he would have achieved in his life had she not seduced him for her own selfish reasons.

Now all we have is Macron and his chicken legged grandma of a wife.

Don't forget Buttigiege and the many, many who will come behind him.

I would have been too shy/scared at 14.

She should’ve rotted in prison, along with the first judge who let her offend the second time. If this was guy doing this with a young girl, he’d never see the light of day again - especially after the second offense.

She’s almost 60 now, and he’s reaching 35; why wouldn’t that last? /s

Yes, it’s a creep fest.

But you are using an incorrect term. A pedophile is attracted to pre-pubescent children. She was a rapist, but not a pedophile.

That’s amusing - you think I asked a question regarding your sad comment about being proud of not watching a TV show because I was looking for “positive replies”.

What is it about teachers?

My senior year of high school had had a German language teacher who was old, dumpy, strict, but kindly. She had some kind of medical issue and retired. Her replacement was a gorgeous blond girl just out of college. She was bubbly and exciting but didn't teach us much about the German language.

She had a "thing" for men in the military and when she found out I had already signed on to the Air Force and was in the Reserves, she became VERY friendly with me. I was too nervous and didn't want any type of commitment as I had my career planned out and it didn't include being married with children at a young age.

When I returned home for the first time after my first technical school I found out that teacher had married another one of my classmates who had joined the Army.

I'll try to be brief.

In the fall of 1963 I took a class in philosophy at Santa Ana College from John Schmitz. Although primarily a political science teacher, he also taught philosophy. I've talked to people who took his political science class and they said he was excellent.

On the first day of class, he introduced himself and said that perhaps we would remember his name better if he wrote it like this. He then wrote Schmitz in the format of the Schlitz beer logo:

He was very humorous and very knowledgeable, and overall a very good teacher.

There were, however, a couple disturbing incidents.

The first occurred when the subject of Adolf Eichmann somehow came up. Schmitz contended that the prosecution of Eichmann was unjust and unfair. I don't remember the details of what Schmitz said.

The second incident occurred on November 22, 1963, the day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. Most of us were aware that JFK had passed. Schmitz knew that JFK had been shot, but was unaware of his passing. He held class as always did, as though nothing had happened. He was his usual jovial, humorous self, but this time he wasn't getting any laughs.

In spite of this, I still consider him one of the best teachers I ever had.

Thanks.

He sounds like a good teacher. I’m not so sure if he was a good husband or father.

“When Richard M. Nixon, whose permanent residence at the time was in San Clemente—located in Schmitz’s district— first went to China in 1972, Schmitz was asked if he supported President Nixon’s going to China. Schmitz replied, ‘I didn’t care that Nixon went to China, I was only upset that he came back.’”
