You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications, unfortunately they are copyrighted so we can't use them here. So, we're just going to make up our own.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.
Solving the puzzle under 8 minutes is good, under 6 very good, under 4 excellent and under 2 "you're a pro!"
Those of you looking for an added challenge can try to solve one sentence or even one word at a time, i.e. solve the entire first line, then go to the second line etc.

When I was in grade school I had a book of his works in the original language. Carried it everywhere and memorized much of it.

Amazing...right around 2.....was pretty much stumped this past couple of days and the ‘wrong’ word yesterday had absolutely NO bearing on my ‘striking out’ (baseball lingo, opening day(for most part) yesterday)....

2 minutes. The two short words in the name led to a word here and a word there. That’s a great quote... it has imagery, resonance... I recently lost a good friend to cancer so it’s a very salient observation to me.

I quickly found the common three-letter word and the four-letter word that ends with the first two letters of the three-letter word, and the double two-letter middle name. Everything flowed from there.

Doubt it. I just see the post everyday around the same time. I’m in Asia so it’s usually around the end of the work day.
