A woman died from her injuries after her own two dogs mauled her outside an animal hospital in Irving Saturday morning, police say.
Police shot and killed the dogs when they arrived because the pets would not allow authorities to come close to the owner, police say.

She was their OWNER! If course she had access to the dogs especially if it was a voluntary quarantine.
You’ll never get through to some of these low-info people here. They see the words “Pit Bull” and they know everything they need to know.
Stupid is as stupid does and there’s a lot of stupid people regarding Pit Bulls. Some breeds require different handling. These dogs were in quarantine. I’m guessing they had rabies or some other disease but we will likely never know because stupid people are so easily programmed to fall into their default stupid mode when they hear or see those two words.
In just about every single one of these dog bites man stories; we don’t get facts. We just get observations of what happened. I can’t think of a single one that had the cause listed.
Yes; she just posted another dog bites man story in the middle of the night so it would be a while before it was pulled. These sneaky SOB’s do that knowing these stories aren’t welcome here. To my knowledge Norski hasn’t been banned yet even though she should be for her heinous actions of PM’ing members here to talk smack about other members. She sent me one such message by mistake. The ‘cat’ is out of the bag; she’s a bitch. If she was a dog she would be a Jackal.

Many took offense but they didn’t realize I was a big cat person who took care of my pets.
One of our cats (aptly named “The Bubber”) took to clawing our new Nubuk leather couches that we had paid over $3K for and we were trying to figure out how to stop him. I came home from work one day and the phone rang - it was the vet saying she could get the cat in to be declawed...
I told her she must be mistaken and she said my wife had called to make an appointment because she was worried I would be super upset if the cat actually destroyed the furniture...I told her the cat could have the couches before he would ever be treated like that....kind of ironic that he was watching me as I talked and never clawed the couches again....

Wrong. Chickens are smart also. They just sound and act stupid. When it comes to survival, watch what they do and it makes sense.
How do you know that it was a voluntary quarantine? The article did not say that.
Why was she allowed out there with the dogs? You don’t have those facts - only an unwarranted assumption. But you’re criticizing me for asking.
It should be obvious that there is a potential for an expensive wrongful death lawsuit if the woman was not supposed to be in there with the dogs.
I understand that most of you here think that pitbull owners should be put to death in the most painful manner possible, but fortunately that’s not the law.

Several of my cat’s teeth have been extracted, including her fangs (her needle-point claws work just fine). Still, I feign pain when she bits...wouldn’t want to damage her psyche.

My cat’s 11 and one of his teeth just came out, the vet said!! It was missing!!
I don’t know how we haven’t found it unless he swallowed it and we threw it away with the litter.
And no we don’t want to damage their little fury psyches :)
I took on a pretty bad head injury when i was in my late 30s. Mom and girlfriend (now wife) got the cat for me while my aunt was calling funeral homes. The cat won!
Best friend day and night and only companion until wife got home at 7pm for five years, before I could work again.
I thought ZERO about cats before then. Thought they were loners and ill tempered.
This pudgy little guy is my best friend and if someone hurt him on purpose it would be better they were never born.

Why in the world was the woman allowed in the enclosure?
Perhaps they figured that if they had rabies she'd already been exposed, or more likely they knew enough about dog breeds to realize that pits don't need rabies to go into a frenzy.

Do I think cats can fluently understand English? No but I do think that your buddy may have pieced together that that thing you use lets you talk to other people and maybe read the inflections in your voice and thought “I’d better leave the couch alone!!” :)

Declawing is kind of like taking the end of your finger off.
I know cats who thrived after it back when it was not a big deal, but not if they met another cat with claws!
For some reason I’ve pictured you as a rough, tough no-nonsense guy.
Glad to see I’m not the only one that is kind of like that but still loves to own these little guys :)
But they do need a reason. Dogs don't do that without some kind of reason. For instance I've observed dogs can get into a pack mentality when 3 or more are in certain environments. This was not their home environment. They were out of their element. I suspect rabies or something else but we will likely never hear whether they do or don't. We are left to assume the worst of these dogs simply because they are a target breed by some fanatics.
There are plenty breeds of dogs that have the inclination,but lack the size.
