Bryce Harper is probably burning up Scott Boras' phone complaining about his 'second rate' deal.

That is more than all the high school teachers make in NJ.
Only in America!

MLB teams are relying on an unending stream of TV revenues to finance these deals.
That scenario is about to meet the hard, cold reality of cord-cutting.

I wonder if he’s a democrat. If so he needs to give up 80% of that money to taxes.

Mike deserves it. He’s the Mickey Mantle of our times.

That’s a mind blowing number! But Trout’s dad a HS baseball coach...he’s not complaining.

One baseball player making more than all of the high-school teachers in New Jersey is only going to help the socialists at election time.
Most average people out there are going to look at that stat and say “ummmmm
...no. Time to redistribute.”

Yeah, I don’t see baseball surviving as it had before. NFL, NHL, NBA all have quite strong ticket sales and fan interest, but MLB seems to be waning quickly. You can see it in high school sports as well - parents are more willing to put their kids in soccer for spring sports than baseball.

I never heard of him until I saw this thread title. I suppose the dwindling number of pro baseball fans have heard of him, though. I think if they each chip in ten bucks they may be close to paying off this salary. :)

Thats over twice as much as I make. :D Yes, but you have good benefits. That may make up the difference.

How come Leftists who hate rich CEO's have no problems with sports or entertainment superstars making insane amounts of money?

maybe they see it as the athlete deserves it for their talent/skill/whatever?
I get your point, but I’m just trying to think like a Leftist.
