limate change activism is increasingly the domain of the young, such as 16-year-old Greta Thunberg, the unlikely face of the school strike for climate movement, which has seen many thousands of children walk out of school to demand that their parents generation takes responsibility for leaving them a planet to live on. In comparison, the existing political establishment looks more and more like an impediment to change. The consequences of global warming have moved from the merely theoretical and predicted to observable reality over the past few years, but this has not been matched by an uptick in urgency. The need to keep the wheels of capitalism well-oiled takes precedence even against a backdrop of fires, floods and hurricanes.
Todays children, as they become more politically aware, will be much more radical than their parents, simply because there will be no other choice for them. This emergent radicalism is already taking people by surprise. The Green New Deal (GND), a term presently most associated with 29-year-old US representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has provoked a wildly unhinged backlash from the pro free market wing, who argue that its a Trojan horse, nothing more than an attempt to piggyback Marxism onto the back of climate legislation.
The criticism feels ridiculous. Partly because the GND is far from truly radical and already represents a compromise solution, but mainly because the radical economics isnt a hidden clause, but a headline feature. Climate change is the result of our current economic and industrial system. GND-style proposals marry sweeping environmental policy changes with broader socialist reforms because the level of disruption required to keep us at a temperature anywhere below absolutely catastrophic is fundamentally, on a deep structural level, incompatible with the status quo.

He’s intentionally stating it backwards - their real goal is the end of Capitalism, and they’re using “climate change” as a tool to achieve that end.
Translation:
We need to greatly reduce everyone else’s standard of living, and kill off most of the population through starvation and disease.
After all, the Georgia Guidestones remind us that we should keep Earth’s population below one hundred million.
In other words it requires totalitarian government.
Why don’t you just come out and say it?
“... many thousands of children walk out of school to demand that their parents generation takes responsibility for leaving them a planet to live on.”
You got it, Kids!
1. You’re walking to school and everywhere else from here on out; I will no longer burn fossil fuels at YOUR expense.
2. YOU are in charge of the grocery shopping, now. I want all items in glass bottles for recycling, and I want you to carry home food in your HANDS to avoid plastic packaging of any kind. No more Mountain Dew for YOU!
3. No electronics. No cellphone, TV, radio or microwave oven for your Hot Pockets after school. No batteries are allowed in the house, either!
4. All clothing, shoes, underwear, etc. now come from second hand sources so we’re not harming poor Third World kids in sweat shops on the other side of the globe.
5. No more running hot water and no toilet. I’ll show you how to dig a latrine and build a field shower, ya little pishers, LOL!
6. I’m selling all of your Worldly Possessions and writing a big fat check to your choice of Enviro-Weenie group.
7. We’re shooting the family dog. Dog farts are ruining the planet!
I can go on and on and on; they’d shut up the minute they lost their phones, LOL!
The environmental movement has always been about the end of capitalism, to be replaced with...what? Its never had anything to do with the climate.
The Russian Commies dumped the obsolete Nuclear Reactors removed from their decommissioned Submarines into the Arctic Sea.
The Nuclear Power Plant at Chernobyl did not have a contained Reactor Vessel so the Radioactive Fallout from the accident was released into the Atmosphere.
Yep, those Socialist / Commie types really care about the Environment and what happens to their People.
Screw Capitalism...
Look at Elon Musk and Tesla. Tesla makes the vast majority of electric cars. The legacy car companies have to continue their gasoline cars because they are their cash cows. They tinker around the edges of electric vehicles.
Musk is also investing in solar power and battery technology.
Bill Gates is investing in nuclear power.
Germany's push for "renewable" energy is increasing their CO2 output.
The era of government and central planning being the solution is over. In this new gilded age it will be the billionaire capitalists who will effect the needed change, just as they did a century ago.
Funny, they basically expose the “why” of pushing “climate change” right out of the gate.
This isn’t the conclusion of what must be done to fight climate change. That was the starting point. How do we eradicate capitalism? Come up with an un-provable problem caused by it.
E.g. Hmmm, they (we) use lots of energy, energy from carbon based fuels, what is the byproduct? CO2 - bingo! CO2 is a *poison* to the earth!! Who cares if plants need the stuff - we’ll just claim it’ll destroy the climate! Then we can demand an end to capitalism!!! Redistribute their wealth to us!
Except that capitalism is probably the ONLY solution to ANY such problem. It will provide the economic driving force, even for changing CO2 outputs if proven to be a problem.
But what if we’re too late? BS. The earth has had higher levels of CO2 before, it’s been warmer and colder, it’s pretty obvious that the climate has the equilibrium forces to keep things balanced. Besides, it’s not OUR CO2 output that is the problem, at least in terms of year-over-year output, ours has declined.
Go and talk to China and India.
Here are a couple of possible solutions:
We dont have the debt for it, moron.
Only Communism for you, comrades.
I dont get these morons. Capitalism has been the biggest boon to mankind than any other economic system humans have ever developed but theyre to blind to see it.
The leftists could end climate change by pulling their heads out of their a&&es!
Montgomery Burns was able to do that....
Hi.
“The consequences of global warming have moved from the merely theoretical and predicted to observable reality over the past few years, “
Male bovine excrement.

“Climate change activism is increasingly the domain of the young, such as 16-year-old Greta Thunberg, “
Wow! Like how many armed divisions does the 50 IQ ape, Greta Thunberg, have at her command? Let’s first see if poor Greta can figure out what bathroom to use before promoting her to battlefield general. I’d guess a good bare-butt spanking of this twit would calm her down. That also applies to the delusional commies spinning fairy tales at the Guardian.
The New Green Deal is pure Socialist horse sh*t that is fed to the children who eat it up like pot brownies.
“Ending climate change requires the end of capitalism. Have we got the stomach for it?”
it is actually very clear from reading AOC’s manifesto plus all the rest, that the true goal of the “climate change” hoax is indeed the abolition of capitalism and the installation of a communist dictatorship by the elite over we masses of proles ...
Thinking that humans have the ability to reverse climate change is just as unachievable as using rockets to slow down the rotation of the earth. The same misguided reasoning would think it beneficial for the earth to have more time to warm up from the sun’s rays in the daylight hours and more time to cool off at night.
Reducing CO2 levels, if it is possible, may be just as unachievable with effects not yet known. Those who know the facts about the Earth’s atmosphere, know that man’s contribution is very small. To reduce CO2 levels would mean a tremendous effort, like rockets to slow the earth’s rotation. This tells me that the Climate Change effort is an industry that exploits the fact that it is unachievable.
