Wow: Republicans now crafting legislation to limit POTUS power in future national emergencies
The National Sentinel ^ | 3/18/19 | Jon Dougherty

Few Democrats and Republicans had any issues with the National Emergencies Act, passed in 1976 to give presidents the authority to declare emergencies in times of crisis.

But since the president is now Donald Trump and the crisis is unchecked illegal immigration, suddenly members of his own party, as well as a growing number of Democrats, have lots of problems with the law — and they want to change it.

Seems like the Koch Brothers still wield much power.

The Hill reports that Republican leaders are currently crafting legislation that would curb the president’s powers during future national emergency declarations.

The next leftist president will use this for climate change.

Ahh...no! That’s a leftist talking point promoted to scare the gullible into opposing Trump’s Executive Act. The RINOs quickly adopted this talking point as an explanatory rational for their opposition to Trump’s attempt at border control.

So, now the mask is finally and completely off. There’s no difference between D’s and R’s. Same set of goals.

The GOP is there to ensure progress toward authoritarianism is maintained during periods of overreach and backlash against Democrats. Nothing more than that.

The GOP is the enemy of the people, and more so because they sell themselves as the opposite.

The only thing I hate worse than a Democrat is a Republican.

They never wanted to limit Presidential power when Obama
was President. Only with Trump.
They will pay a price for this nonsense.

They want to stop Trump from extending his border emergency declaration. It has to be renewed after a certain time, and they want to make that impossible.

They’re fine with presidents sending troops to the Middle East without asking Congress. It’s only the protection of our own country that triggers them. GOPee - they’re not for you or me

NO ONE can predict what kids of emergencies will happen in the future of the USA, much less in the future of Trump.

This is nuts. Congress, with it’s current crop of members, is the one who needs to reined in.

The corruption & graft & other moves by the Dems for years has led this country to the brink of disaster.

This country needed a President who WAS NOT a life time politician with a boatload of paybacks accumulated in a political lifetime.

They want to make it so the president can declare it but after 30 days it must be authorized through congress. Does not seem totally unreasonable considering how many emergencies have been on-going for a long time.

Sometimes you’ve got to agree with the opposition—the Koch brothers are an evil force in the US. Their decades of undermining our immigration laws and enforcement has put our country on the brink.

Some here may be unhappy, but this is how our government is SUPPOSED to work!

Utter nonsense. Our elected represents are supposed to represent US. Not the donor class.

This is the first time in US history that a political party is undermining the platform a POTUS of their own party was elected to implement.

Your opinion could not be more wrong. But the progressive corportist uniparty attempting to keep the borders wide open to drug smuggling and human trafficking thank you for your support.

“This country needed a President who WAS NOT a life time politician with a boatload of paybacks accumulated in a political lifetime.”

RidesTheMiles spaketh the truth and why Trump is so betrayed by the party that’s supposed to back him up. Good to know. Both major parties have become so power mad and viscous while losing regard for the people it’s time for the garbage disposal for them. Patriot Party. Love America and Liberty or Get the Hell Out.
