Morality and Michael Cohen (2 bag barf alert)
The New York Slimes ^ | 2/28/2019 | David Brooks

Posted on 03/03/2019 5:41:53 PM PST by Beave Meister

I often wonder who didn’t love Donald Trump. I often wonder who left an affection void that he has tried to fill by winning attention, which is not the same thing. He’s turned his life into a marketing strategy. As Michael Cohen said in his testimony on Wednesday, even the presidential campaign was a marketing campaign to build the Trump brand.

In turning himself into a brand he’s turned himself into a human shell, so brittle and gilded that there is no place for people close to him to attach. His desperate attempts to be loved have made him unable to receive love.

Imagine what your own life would be like if you had no love in it, if you were just using people and being used. Trump, personifying the worst elements in our culture, is like a providentially sent gong meant to wake us up and direct us toward a better path.

Nonetheless, his kind of life has an allure for other lonely people who also live under the illusion that you can win love and respect with bling and buzz. Michael Cohen was one of these people. He testified that in serving Donald Trump he felt he was serving a cause larger than self. Those causes were celebrity and wealth.

The New York Slimes are without a doubt the most irrelevant newspaper in America...Two weeks before Cohen was indicted, he was gushing all over town to anyone who would listen, about great President Trump is, and the media hated him. Now he's their hero. What a bunch of Bu!!shit...

I dare anyone at the NYT take M Cohen as a lawyer... let alone pay him.

What a joke, a lawyer betraying a client. Why would the clients pay him altogether?

I had a lib jewish pu$$y lawyer like that, doing everything ideologically that the leftwing reform Synagogue wanted him to do. Betrayed me and then had secretary beg me to pay the dues. Fat chance of that, lawyers cannot sue their own client since they have their file.

Enter M Cohen of course, who of course cannot sue Trump and is now disbarred for 50 pieces of democrat chocolate medals

This may be a new low for NYT house “conservative” Brooks.

I laughed when Brooks wrote his now-infamous observation about the crease in Obama’s trousers.

This, on the other hand, isn’t funny. I think two barf bags isn’t enough.

Brooks should have quit after writing “Bobos in Paradise,” which was a bit precious for my taste, but still full of insight about the folkways and mores of America’s liberal elite.

Brooks definitely had plenty of knowledge of his subject, being himself part of that liberal elite.

But Brooks evidently lacked the deeper knowledge — and, dare I say, humility — to step outside his elitist frame of reference.

He lacks any grasp of the values and aspirations of working Americans who send their kids to public schools and state universities.

President Trump does grasp these realities — and that’s why our Leftist betters hate him.

You’ve really hit bottom when your sense of self-worth depends largely upon denigrating others — especially people who haven’t enjoyed the same advantages in life.

But that’s the mindset of today’s Left-wing aristocracy.

Speaking of Cohen and his big “Side Show” President Trump just said it may have contributed the walk at the very important Nuclear Summit with North Korea. Wouldn’t it be ironic now if North Korea should take out a few American cities and kill millions and millions of Democrat Voters?

David Brooks made the barf bag alerts obvious. Don’t even need to read the article because it is by him and it is from the New York Slimes.

Trump, personifying the worst elements in our culture, is like a providentially sent gong meant to wake us up and direct us toward a better path.

The "better path" of Brooks is to vote for Democrats, who will appoint Democrat Federal judge-presidents who will rule the country forever, once their bodies are replaced by androids, like that of Ruth Bader Corpseburg.

Odd that the Democrat Brooks doesn’t mention Lynne Patton’s revelation that Cohen flipped because Mueller was going to imprison his wife for 30 years.

By implication, Brooks is actually saying that people such as Ilhan Omar don’t “personif(y) the worst elements in our culture”. Never mind Bernie Sanders, Pelosi ad nauseam and what they do and do not personify.

“Obama sees himself as a Burkean,” Brooks says. “He sees his view of the world as a view that understands complexity and the organic nature of change.” Moreover, after the Bush years, Brooks seems relieved to have an intellectual in the White House again. “I divide people into people who talk like us and who don’t talk like us,” he explains. “Of recent presidents, Clinton could sort of talk like us, but Obama is definitely–you could see him as a New Republic writer. He can do the jurisprudence, he can do the political philosophy, and he can do the politics. I think he’s more talented than anyone in my lifetime. I mean, he is pretty dazzling when he walks into a room. So, that’s why it’s important he doesn’t fuck this up.”
