The current debate is over what Democrats plan to implement if and when they take power — not what Trump will sign tomorrow.
“I am for the call to action,” Delgado told his constituents, listing off a number of priorities, including green jobs and ending fossil fuel subsidies, though he was less clear on what that would precisely look like. Rather, Delgado said that he was interested in policies that presented change in the short term — closing the door, at least for now, on the more long-term goals of the Green New Deal.
“It’s not what we want 15, 20, 30 years from now,” said Delgado. “What can we get done right now?”

It was a pathetic School field trip to Feinsteins office. It was a a sad display of Elementary up to high school age, mostly girls, emoting about how we have 12 years left and that only radical change will do, because anything less will result in the end of life as we know it.
Feinstein actually gave them a lesson in political reality. They may be too brainwashed by the liberal pablum about global warming they have ingested in school and from icons such as Al Gore and Ocasio-Cortez. But if they are open enough to learn a political lesson about how the political process doesn’t allow for such sweeping actions such as the green new deal, because not everyone agrees this action is needed, those kids would have learned a good lesson.
I have a feeling they went back to school, angry that Feinstein is some sort of.obstructionist, and thinking we need a revolution to install dictator to decree we will fight global warming.

Where you going to get the electricity to run those trains. Most of the power plants run on gas or coal.

I agree with you. This will require a very intensive campaign to push back on these ideas. Young people and environmental true believers see things very simplistically. They will have an answer for everything. Come up with your own crazy rationalizations and you can expect some of them will be saying them:
Eliminating gas-powered vehicles - “We like electric cars”
No more cows - “I can get used to vegan burgers”
End of air travel - “I like trains, and we can see more of the country”
Remake homes - “Solar panels are neat”
Cost - “billionaires will pay for it”
Once they get past the cost issue, the rest is easy.
We joked that the country would not take Obama seriously, when he was running in 2008. We were sure that his disastrous first term would doom him in 2012. We were sure that the Midterms would be a positive referendum on Trump, and the GOP would hold the House.
Never underestimate the ignorance of voters who buy into the environmental scam.

I recommend all Democratic members of Congress be the first passengers.
Not all Democrat voters are demanding a Green New Deal, and the more moderate Democrat legislators are sensitive to this little nuance.
So AO-C manages to get a number of these more moderate Democrats primaried, replacing them with with “reliable” Green New Deal partisans, this should play well with the remaining moderate Democrat and the independent voters in that district. The Republicans had better make sure they field somebody who can take up the opposing positions to the Green New Deal.
If AO-C is only going to have one shot - make her miss.

At this point, the Communist loons have taken over the Liberal Party and the remaining Dems who can still think on their own are now captives. Will they defect? For years, academia has nurtured the snowflake Communists on their campuses and now they are reaping what they have sown. Academia is now like the mad chemist in his lab, he is about to blow himself up and all those around him. It’s too late to stop it.
Why would they do that? If they get their way you won't be able to travel unless of course you are a member of "The Club." Then you will be required to get a government issued pass.
A lot of us conservative true believers, including the overwhelming majority of Freepers, were hoping that the rest of the country would see what we saw, and do the right thing in those elections. Of course it was wishful thinking, but that’s what keeps us going on FreeRepublic. We are (mostly) optimists here, and we keep pushing back against the insanity.

Arguably, AOC’s “fantasy Green Deal” has done one thing for our side (Trumpsters).
It has reduced the HATE TRUMP NEWS every hour of every day and instead focused it on Socialists/Communists FANTASY, in their dark hearts for at least a hundred years, about obliterating the United States of America.
