I agree with you. This will require a very intensive campaign to push back on these ideas. Young people and environmental true believers see things very simplistically. They will have an answer for everything. Come up with your own crazy rationalizations and you can expect some of them will be saying them:
Eliminating gas-powered vehicles - “We like electric cars”
No more cows - “I can get used to vegan burgers”
End of air travel - “I like trains, and we can see more of the country”
Remake homes - “Solar panels are neat”
Cost - “billionaires will pay for it”
Once they get past the cost issue, the rest is easy.
We joked that the country would not take Obama seriously, when he was running in 2008. We were sure that his disastrous first term would doom him in 2012. We were sure that the Midterms would be a positive referendum on Trump, and the GOP would hold the House.
Never underestimate the ignorance of voters who buy into the environmental scam.
I don’t recall many who were sure of any of those things
