Someone probably complained that Today’s Toons were a click bait blog, so now he’s blocked from posting. /Sarc

He posts from forums in competition with FR, which might have caught up with him.

(writing to you from my wife’s PC)...as piroque said in comment #4, my new PC should arrive in a couple of weeks. Today, someone will try to “fix” my unusable PC temporarily while I wait for the new one to arrive. Everything I need to post the toons (as well as MANY other things) are on that PC. If possible, he’ll be trying to access some usable parts on my bad hard drive...this is way above my paygrade.

I remember reading something years ago that there was some sort of issue with where the toons were coming from and they could no longer be posted.

I just ran a "user" search on Pookie and there was no activity listed.

Just so you understand the WHOLE story.

I started posting the threads here directly in 2004. Over the years I’ve posted them directly also at several other sites.

Somewhere around 2008-2009 (not sure of exact time), Free Republic was having copyright problems from many sources. I was told that I could not directly post images from several sources which I’m guessing covered 50-75% of the images that I posted. Since it was no longer worthwhile to post the thread here, I stopped.

I continued to post to several other sites.

At some point, another FReeper started posting my threads here indirectly by linking to another site where I posted the thread. I took it back over from him & now I post the thread here indirectly. I switch the links that I use between 3 of the 4 sites where I still post them directly. These other sites are aware that I use their links here.

It’s a win-win situation since it avoids FR’s copyright problems & about ~1,500 people here get to view the toons daily (when I have a PC to post them) & all they have to do is click on a link.

I’m posting this not just to you, but for others to know the history.
