On Joy Reid's MSNBC show this morning. The topic was Kamala Harris's presidential prospects. Tiffany Cross of The Beat DC was first up. After claiming that Harris's record as a prosecutor made her suspect among African-American men, she said:
TIFFANY CROSS: The African-American community expects more from people who look like us, particularly a candidate who represents us . . . She needs to find a strong, black man advocate who can be in her corner at some point in the campaign -- at any space in her campaign, I would say, that's my key advice: find a prominent blue-collar, self-made, black man to be in your corner."
MSNBC analyst Jason Johnson took it a step further, disqualifying Harris's white husband as a potential advocate. "Let's just be candid. When you're saying she needs to have an advocate out there, it's not going to be her [white] husband. She needs to surround herself with African-American men."

Her mother was from India and her father is from Jamaica, so she is not African-American the way the term is usually understood. I guess there is some doubt that she has any African ancestry at all. Her father looks like he does, but he all he says about his family history is that one grandmother he knew was related to the plantation owner, which I assume means white, and one was of unknown ancestry.
Not that I really care. But the comments made about her white husband sound awfully close to what white racists might say about Harris herself. She and her husband are race-traitors. There are even less-complimentary terms as well.
What I care about is if she is a natural born citizen. She was born in 1964. Her father came to the U.S. in 1961, and her mother in 1960. Were they even naturalized citizens when she was born? If so, how did it happen that fast?
