Saw Frampton's Camel at the Spectrum in Philly in 1973. There was a walkway set up that went out over the crowd. During one song a brother jumped up on the end of the walkway and did his dance. He had some moves. Frampton appeared to love it. The crowd was going wild. It was a moment.

Shame that Steve Marriott passed away before he and Frampton could have rekindled Humble Pie, they had recorded a few songs together, and there was a lot of rumblings that a full-scale reunion was in the works.

Glenn Hughes is a steel driving man! A John Henry allusion.

There's a kind of funny video of a guy named Rick Beato who's a music producer who makes videos on youtube about making and analyzing music (really good stuff if you care about that) and he analyzed one of Frampton's songs from "Frampton Comes Alive". He waxed poetic about how Frampton would transition from aeolian mode into dorian, mix in phrases from various jazz masters, etc.

Frampton saw it and invited him to his studio so they did an interview. When they guy asked him about all that technical stuff Frampton basically said something to the effect "I did all that? I never knew. Well, the jazz stuff I did, I was really a jazz fan growing up but all that music theory stuff I never even learned. I just played what sounded good."

Cool!

I still remember how big "Frampton Comes Alive" was that one summer back when I was a kid, and I still remember riding my bike down to Tower Records to buy that LP. Frampton's farewell tour for me happened a few months afterward - I'm still burned out in his music and I doubt that will change in my lifetime.

I saw Gray Wright, Leon Russell and Grand Funk at the Fabulous Forum in 1975 - still after all these years, probably the best show I’ve ever been to

I bet that was a great show! Back in the day, that was my thing, going to rock shows! Not so much anymore as I don't like the crowds. The best show I saw was the Eagles on their "Hotel California" tour in Frankfurt, Germany, but there were other that were a close second including "Frampton Comes Alive"!

Easy to forget that for that period from 76-78, Frampton may have been the biggest star on the planet.

He faded just as quickly as he rose, and frankly, he’s fortunate to have stayed somewhat grounded through it all.

This is the video of Rick Beato analyzing Frampton's guitar playing. Yes he discusses music theory technical stuff but they guy is a huge Frampton fanboy and he explains a lot of what's really going on in Frampton's playing that makes it so unique: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beFMP_LO3_I

And here he is interviewing Frampton, which isn't all about music theory but rather mostly about Frampton's influences and him telling stories about his early days: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUz75pYsA_c

Frampton also went to school with David Bowie, he played guitar for Bowie on his 1987 Glass Spider Tour.

Wow sorry to hear that. I remember that big hit he had around 1979 “I’m in you”, I was at summer camp at the time around 16 years old and the radio played it constantly.

If the AVM gets worse, the result will be decreased blood flow of oxygen to the brain.

Hate to pour salt on a wounded man, but given his recent political tweets, I wonder if the AVM hasn't already advanced?

Juss sayin...
