I suspect that networks are trying to wean their customers away from cable.
Maybe so. I wonder how many people they expect to sign up for the CBS streaming service, to make it profitable.
I can only speak for myself, and admit I don’t watch too much TV. But, for me anyway, there would have to be some compelling reason to sign up for a new service. There are only 24 hours in a day, only so much time anyone can devote to home entertainment, whether it’s watching the 4 legacy broadcast networks, various cable networks, premium channels such as HBO, or services such as Netflix.
As with any product, the market will decide whether there is enough demand for the CBS streaming service featuring a reboot of a great old show such as Twilight Zone. Time will tell.

JERRY: You know, this is like that Twilight Zone where the guy wakes up, and he’s the same - but everyone else is different!

What I love about streaming is that you are not looking to see, “what’s on now”. You are looking in the library and choosing a title.
A very, VERY large library.
One of the things I hated about TV is the sense of immediacy. Watch it when it’s on or miss it.

I've got a plot idea they could use -- a pampered actor, who's a mincing homosexual, angry about his mere $1 million paycheck, sets up a fake crime against himself, hiring an extra who's a dead ringer. Dead Ringer could be the title of it. Anyway, the extra points out a series of flaws with the plan, suggests a different plan, and winds up killing the actor, and puling off an identity switch. The last scene is the extra showing up for work on the set of the show, where he pulls down a million a year.
There have been about Twilight Zone reboots in the past, several of them.
If this one isn’t good I will personally put flaming poo on Peele’s front yard.
...until the extra decides the $1 million isn’t enough. Rinse and repeat.

I remember about 12 years or so ago I was talking in an AOL singles chatroom with an ER nurse in my area. She & I were the only ones talking. She happened to mention to me about the grotesque things she has encountered with her patients, and told me straight out that the gay guys that showed up were the worst with the things they did to themselves. They would insert all manner and sort of objects (and yes, even small animals like rodents) into their anuses, and after doing so, could not retrieve them.
At no point did the discussion explicitly say, “Fags are creeps.” It was literally a clinical discussion that tended to confirm the worst things we can imagine with people that have no real respect for themselves. Absolute depravity and debauchery to achieve a “high”, no matter the consequences. Stuff the media wouldn’t report on, especially in their quest to present anything homosexuals do as normal as anyone else.
Cut to the chase, the next day I got a warning from AOL over this clinical discussion, which they termed “hateful and abusive” speech that might lead to my being expelled from AOL. Apparently, either they or someone watching the discussion quietly reported both me and the nurse for telling the unvarnished truth about what Sodomites actually do.
I have no hesitation in calling out homofascists and their apologists as being a huge part of why our nation and culture are in such a despicable state of affairs today. And that was over a dozen years ago, before Zero did his worst. Even more frightening today and the damage they have wrought across the board and in the church. Sick and Satanic evil.
Yeah, that might be a “F this, I quit!” scenario.
