Heh, I just KNEW this thread was going to go this way!
I think he is older than 62...he was a college student in the Fifties...and a radical hippie in the Sixties.
do you have the right DH
Absolutely...he was one of the “Red Diaper Babies” and was born in 1939.
Loved his book “Radical Son”. Very illuminating.

Don’t confuse it with the conservative Horowitz who owns Frontpage Magazine!!
David Joel Horowitz is the writer.
David Charles Horowitz, consumer reporter, died.
Right...I was arguing this is NOT the famous conservative who died...
I think we are all on the same page!
I saw Horowitz on the CSPAN sunday night book show talking about Radical Son. I bought the book in Newark airport and finished it before we landed in Houston. A great read. He really was involved with some bad stuff.
Is that Harold Ramis?
U__________________ are always ahead of the curve! And don’t forget to combat idiocracy.
Yep now realize it is a different David Horowitz, thank goodness!
That was what I got from it too. I think one of the key things that changed him from a Leftist to a conservative was his exposure to the Black Panthers, and the open criminal mindset...culminating in the murder of Betty Van Patter, a secretary who somehow crossed someone.
Great read. Also, the whole concept of the Communists in this country who socialized with each other, vacationed with each other, and so on.
Can you imagine? Joseph McCarthy was indeed right. There WAS a Communist infestation.
That reminds me...I have to buy that movie!
I know “our” David has been ill in recent years although I think he has recovered but he isn’t a spring chicken, either. I dread the loss of him.
Radical Son is one of the greatest books I’ve ever read. Superb! It bothers me that he is now on the outs with the great Ronald Radosh because of his militant support of Donald Trump. Radosh, I guess, is a neo-con Never Trumper although he is the one who proved conclusively that Julius Rosenberg was guilty as hell. I just don’t understand this hatred for the president!
I believe it's a different David Horowitz. Above is a picture of the Horowitz that passed away.
David Charles Horowitz (June 30, 1937February 14, 2019) was an American consumer reporter and journalist for KNBC-TV in Los Angeles, whose Emmy-winning TV program Fight Back! would warn viewers about defective products, test advertised claims to see if they were true, and confront corporations about customer complaints.[2] He has been on the boards of directors of the National Broadcast Editorial Conference, City of Hope, and the American Cancer Society.[3] He has been on the FCC advisory board and advisory board for the Los Angeles District Attorney.
Horowitz has been described as a consumer advocate; he personally shunned the description, noting that he always tried to maintain an objective point of view toward both the consumer and the businesses he profiled.[4]
