A trio of researchers with McMaster, Concordia and Trent Universities has solved the mystery of why pairs of grapes ignite into fireballs when cooked together in a microwave oven
...The tests consisted mostly of using thermal imaging cameras to capture the action as the grapes were heated and running simulations. They also tested other similarly sized fruit and plastic balls filled with water.

I know nothing.
Now, my buddy Nathans older brother Chris...
And all he needed was stock on the shelf at the local pharmacy.
Just make the purchase when a kid is working the cash register, they never ask any dumb questions.
About a hundred years before the internet.
1. Always drill the hole for the fuse BEFORE filling it with the black powder charge.
Clearly, it is quick lime in a gas flame.
Carbon arc light is a smaller version of the old searchlight.
“Limelight is produced by heating quicklime to a high temperature. When its heated with a flame produced by burning a combination of hydrogen and oxygen gases through a blow pipe, quicklime glows a bright white, or, in other words, becomes incandescent this is known as limelight.”

"Indeed! My very concern!"
Of Course I was not thinking that the Grapes...being non magnetic...would levitate!!
So setting aside the Microwave for the time being, perhaps a more classic approach to the physics of this problem provide a more elegant solution!!
The Fusion Containment is reduced to a Must "Solution" Oak Barrel catchment!; This is also more visually appealing and would not require any federal permitting! (A State Liquor Stamp might be required!) :)

How much was the grant money?
Your 12 year old self did it for the love of knowledge and SCIENCE!
You learned what was fun and did it without killing yourself!
And look at you now, you are the Captain of a personal computer that has more power than the NASA computers of the 1960s!
oh well. Off to make dinner!
a Must “Solution” Oak Barrel catchment!
Appears to be an updated version of the ancient Lucy and Ethel “Bitter Grapes”???
Even your advanced version is mostly macerating with a viscous output, whereas the design specifications call for sectioning with a 3mm gap.
Requiring additional energy input to for the plasma.

Would you believe, “Wine, women, and song”?
How about “Sex, drugs and rock and roll”?
“liberty, equality, fraternity”???
Nice solid tricolon.
I recall that one.
A better one was the kid that collected used smoke alarms.
The Radioactive Boy Scout.
Might now be on the Superfund list?

My memory extends back to that period and the show, but it was not impetus for the engineering revision.
It started more along these lines:
/>"I'd rather eat pasta and drink wine than be a size 0." ~Sophia Loren, 1965. (My mom thought so and Mrs.Pete shares this view!
From there it moved to California. Which has Berkley UCLA (Science!) and :
A census of the must in this picture determined that all grapes were within 3cm of other grapes removing the previously stated objection! The pedal expression involved in the classical design may require more energy, but is less polluting and is considerably more elegant than the original proposed solution.
See how easy that was? Science is great! (until you lose your train of thought! (Bye! I am going to visit other threads! Wanted to share , you don't seem to be dumb! You will have to try much harder if you want to convince me!))
Only via the honor system.
You would light up if you were in a microwave. Alien carrots do.
