Just ONE of my hearing aids cost me 3 grand.
There is not an insurance policy in the world that will help you buy them.
I had to take out a loan to get it.
But, oh, how DELIGHTFUL to hear birds singing, and the wind in the trees, and whispered endearments from hubby!
Can’t put a price tag on that!

My family moved every year pretty much. Renters. So at every school since second grade I was labeled slow reader...so it meant slow learner. So at each school I sat in a special area and it didn't take long for me to believe I was stupid. It emotionally stopped my learning until junior high. I then had different teachers all day long. My confidence grew and I started liking school for the first time. Later in college I did a test to prove to myself I wasn't the stupid girl. One semester I took Shakespeare,novel short story,critical writing and European Literature. Beowulf was assigned the first day and discussed the two days later. I spent hours in the college library listening to Shakespeare on recorders. I barely slept the entire semester. I passed all of the subjects with no lower than a B. It was only then I saw myself as not stupid. That's how damaging a label can be....I came here when I retired as only a lurker. MADE myself learn posting.
