Stuff is poison, stay away from it.

Quit all sodas a few years ago, don’t miss it.

women & minorities hardest hit!?

“The new findings are based on a big study of women and show some groups are at even greater risk, with those drinking two or more diet drinks a day who were also obese having more than double the stroke risk.

And African-American women also had a higher risk of stroke.

Dr Mossavar-Rahmani did stress while their findings suggest a link, they couldn’t prove diet drinks cause stroke and heart problems.”

Large consumption of processed sugars is the sure fire best path to heart disease... and the medical and food industries have known that for decades, and keep flat out lying about it.

What perfect timing for this post!

I very rarely drink soda, let alone diet coke. Yet, here I sit with a can of Diet Coke right in front of me.
D’oh!

I seriously drank on average a gallon a day for 25 years. I've dropped back to less than half that in the last year or so. I recently had a physical including a cardiac ultrasound, and have no significant health issues other than being overweight(I'm working on that).

Maybe I'm the outlier?

Being fat increases your chance of stroke and heart disease. It also increases the likelihood you'll drink a diet drink.

The diet drink isn't the cause. It's a sister symptom.

Whoo..glad I switched to Diet Pepsi!

But seriously, my grandmother has been chugged copious amounts of TAB Cola (yeah disgusting) since before I was born (at least the late 1960's), (I think the local Kroger special orders it for her these days) and she's still going strong at 94. So it couldn't be too bad for you....

Sugar is toxic to most cells.

It’s only tolerated (in low concentrations) in most organisms because it’s such a cheap source of energy... and energy is survival.

Did you ever wonder why honey doesn’t spoil? Real maple syrup doesn’t need preservatives either.

Warren Buffett drinks 5 cans of full-sugar Cherry Coke per day. He’s pushing 89 and runs a $500 billion company. You’re good.

Exactly my point.. Sugar is a TOXIN... and consuming of processed and refined sugars is the fastest way to Heart Disease known, but they continue to lie to people about saturated fats, and other things....

Food “science” is largely garbage.

Never too late. Stay away from HFCS. Or you could try the all natural gluten free probiotic organic beverage with hops, barley and other natural grains health drink otherwise known as beer.

I drink any where from 1 to 3 diet cokes every day. No coffee or tea. 58 and in perfect health. Go to the gym 1 to 3 times a week. Workout classes, not just lifting weights at your leisure! lol Oh well, I’ll take my chances.

Water, beer, coffee (with milk) and single scotch malt for me. Proud that my kids are only milk and water.

I started on diet drinks a few years ago to get away from high fructose corn syrup. My cholesterol problem went away when I stopped gulping down large amounts of high fructose every day.

Same here. Been drinking multiple 1 liters a day of Dr. Pepper since I was low teens. Currently mid 30s. Feel great and no health problems aside from slight neurological damage from a motorcycle wreck on Christmas day of ‘07. That’s all the MEPS could find when I tried to enlist, and still have no real health issues
