Sen. Kamala Harris said this morning she supports some type of reparations to black Americans for slavery.
In an interview with the Breakfast Club, a radio show on New York Citys Power 105.1, host Charlamagne asked Kamala Harris about reparations. Where do you stand on some form of reparations for black people? Here you see Mayor De Blasio saying the marijuana economy could be a form of reparations. Marianne Williamson says black people should get a hundred billion in slave reparationslike, where do you stand on it?
Harris responded:
Well look, I think that we have got to address that again, its back to the inequities. There, throughlook, America has a history of 200 years of slavery. We had Jim Crow. We had legal segregation in America for a very long time. The Voting Rights Act was only strong for 50 years and then they wiped it out with this United States Supreme Court in the Shelby decision, to the point that 22 states immediately thereafter put in place laws that one court found were crafted with surgical precision to have black people not be able to vote.
So weve got to recognize, back to that earlier point, people arent starting out on the same base, in terms of their ability to succeed and so we have got to recognize that and give people a lift up. And, there are a number of ways to do it. Part of my initiative again around the Lift Act is that same pointyou lifting people up who are making less than a hundred thousand dollars a year. What I want to do about rent is the same thing. What we need to do around education and understanding disparities, what we need to do around HBCUs. But we have a history of racism in America.
Charlamagne asked again, So you are for some type of reparations?
Yes I am, yes I am, Harris responded.
Donna Brazile and April Ryan are also out there pushing for a handout
If Kamala were to win, would they call her presidency Kamalat?
According to three or four blacks on the radio, her father was also of Indian descent, not a black - they all claimed to have extensively researched her background and her racial claim.
I see by the papers in the Yankee Capital that Johnny Cochran, and of course Jesse and Al, are wheezing and blowing like a county-fair calliope with a leaky boiler. They always are. This time it was about the need to pay reparations for the ravages trala of slavery. It got me to thinking.Rest at the linkI hate it when that happens.
Now, I know Im hard-hearted, and mean-spirited, and no damn good. Its probably my only virtue. But on consideration, I realized that they might be right. The ravages of slavery do run deep, and cause motingator trouble, with no end in sight. I decided that compensation was only reasonable. Sometimes you dont like a conclusion, but you have to reach it. All right. Ill be a man about it.
You can pay me reparations, Johnny.
To start with, I figure you owe me for three bicycles. Maybe its a small thing, but Im tired of losing bicycles. Are we talking market value or replacement? What I really want to be paid for is having to keep my latest two-wheeler in my living room. Do you know how many times Ive knocked the fool thing over? And, oh, the scratch in my granddads antique desk that the brake lever made. Whats that worth?
Call it three grand. OK? Direct deposit would be nice.
But . . . how do we dollarize cultural retrogression? God knows I appreciate your offer of reparations, but Im having trouble with the arithmetic. Help me.
So her "in need of assistance" demographic ranges up to $100,000 a year? Does KH have any idea that this is more than triple the median personal income? Or, to be generous to KH, far above the median household income of 61,000 (2017)? Does KH have any idea how out of touch she is if she thinks average income Americans are living in poverty? I guess it might look that way to a one percenter, but she needs to do a little slumming in flyover country to see how the Great American Middle Class lives.
Free-for-life government-issued identification cards suitable for voting, check cashing, benefits administration, etc. On election day, the identification card will also pay for travel to and from voting polls.
A new "fast pass" process at all state and federal voting polls with that card to make it easy and accessible to vote. Show the card, scan it in, and move to the head of the voting line.
However, with the card and the fast-pass system, you only get to vote ONCE each election, and only in person.

Over the past century the American black community had made enormous strides in becoming incorporated in the American overall fabric of society.. Very little has come from their own efforts. Their inclusion into every aspect of the nations culture has been a result of white mans taking a black hand and bringing them along. Today they have equal opportunities and substantial numbers in employment, education, entertainment, government, military, professional sports, and many other areas of national life. This occurred because the white America willed it, and it happened.
The only place in community life it has not happened is on Sunday mornings in church. As hard as the white churches have tried to incorporate the black population, they still prefer their own way of worship. And I have no problem with that.
Now, if I were to make the above statement in a public setting I would have a hundred protestors at my front door. Isnt it a shame.
Excuse me, could you tell me how I cause slavery when 1)my grandparents on dad’s side came here in 1900, 2) My mom’s family fought in the Civil War and 3) I’m a teen, and I know I don’t have a slave. So just because you think I’m Caucasian male, but sorry, Ms. Harris, I have Hispanic blood in me, jackass!
Give each black person $10k ($300 billion) cash with no strings attached and end all affirmative action everywhere.
And then buy McDonalds, Budweiser and Seagrams stock.
Call it a deal.
Homey dont play that.
Reparations must be the coordinated Cause Du Jure for the Leftists with a little extra melanin today. Donna Brazile is also pushing for it today.
She wants to be rapacious?
Not. Black.
Did I miss something?
I’m half Filipino, does that mean I only pay half?..............
Rapacious?
No, she was consensual.............
I agree to reparations for everyone who was actually a slave, nobody else.
She wants reparations? Fine. Let her start by tracking down all the former slave owners and all the former slaves and make the required transactions. You mean they are all dead? Then I guess she is just SOL.
The problems that plague many black Americans are not going to be fixed by money. They are also not going to be fixed as long as black Americans keep blaming somebody else for those problems, especially people a hundred years dead.
You would think anyone suggesting reparations would have at least descended from American slaves. Her mother is Indian and her father is Jamaican. Perhaps her father descended from Jamaican slaves but Jamaica is not the United States. Her father appears to be middle to upper class so it’s hard to say much about his heritage.
LIFE UP people making LESS then $100,000 a year?
I never made more than $65,000 a year, and I have owned my own house since I was 26. I am in my 3rd house/property & I own this one free & clear.
WHEN Kamala Harris ( the congressperson who is NOT ELIGIBLE to EVER be President of the USA) can show me a LIVING person who actually was a slave, I will personally send in $5 out of my Soc Sec.
The ‘slaves’ in this country were NOT in the entire country. Many areas NEVER saw a ‘slave’. None of MY ancestors ever had ‘slaves’.
WHY should people who were NEVER slaves be paid by people who NEVER had any slaves???
The founders had very good reasons to exclude the children of foreign nationals from being President.
Oh, she doesn't consider endless welfare and free food for life a form of reparations? Well I do. My white ancestors never got either of those when they came here and lived in the very same neighborhoods they now live in.
