With singer Gladys Knight having performed the national anthem at the Super Bowl, there was contention by some who wished she had not given the controversy surrounding Colin Kaepernick.
She defended her decision to preform [sic] on Friday during her interview on CNN.
People are going to have their opinions. You know, about whatever. And all I can deal with, all I can deal with right now is what my heart says. Okay? I believe in fairness, Knight explained. I believe in truth. I believe in all of those things, and as far as this is concerned, I grew up with the national anthem. We used to sing it in school before school started. We used to say prayers in school before school started, and we just dont have that anymore and Im just Im just hoping that it will be about our country and how we treat each other and being the great country that we are.

Hurt her career??? She’s retired, Lemon, you dumb f*k!
The only career that’s in jeopardy is yours.
She should have laughed in his face and walked off!
Gladys is still working.
How is Colin doing?
Lemon doesn’t always mean a worthless car or appliance but also appears to apply to worthless news casters.

Don is merely is a poster boy, like his death to America forerunner and mentor, Obama.
If only the half-time show had been a solo concert by Ms. Knight.
Here he is ranting about whites and social justice, but at the end of the night, what is he sucking on. LOL
Gladys Knight was interviewed by the poop
I’m racking my brain. Is there any other planet on earth where blacks do as well and have as many opportunities as in the US?
Perhaps Lemon, who, with information, understanding, wisdom and motivation for unity might use his microphone for good, will choose to enlighten himself by reading an address by a Black Legislator and A.M.E. Bishop who lived through the Civil War, and, despite that, delivered a powerful Sermon celebrating the Declaration of Independence in 1876:
"Withdraw from Christendom the Bible, the Church with its sacraments and ministry, and Christian morality and hopes, and aspirations for time and eternity; repeal all the laws that are founded in the Christian Scriptures; remove the Christian humanities in the form of hospitals and asylums, and reformatories and institutions of mercy utterly unknown to unchristian countries; destroy the literature, the culture, the institutions of learning, the art, the refinement, the place of woman in her home and in society, which owe their origin and power to Christianity; blot out all faith in Divine Providence, love, and righteousness; turn back every believer in Christ to his former state; remove all thought or hope of the forgiveness of sins by a just but gracious God; erase the name of Christ from every register it sanctifiesin a word annihilate all the legitimate and logical effects of Christianity in Christendomjust accomplish in fact what multitudes of gifted and learned minds are wishing and trying to accomplish by their science, philosophy, and criticism, and what multitudes of the common people desire and seek, and not only would all progress toward and unto perfection cease, but not one of the shining lights of infidelity would shine much longer. Yes, the bitterest enemies of this holy and blessed religion, owe their ability to be enemies to its sacred revelations - to the inspiration and sublimity of that faith which reflects its glories on their hostile natures. They live in the strength of that which they would destroy. They are raised to their seats of opportunity and power by the grace of Him they would crucify afresh; and is it to be thought that they are stronger than that which gives them strength? Can it be supposed that a religion which civilizes and subdues, and elevates and blesses will succumb to the enmities it may arouse and quicken in its onward march? Are we to tremble for the ark of God when God is its upholder, and protector, and preserver? - Dr. Benjamin W. Arnett, St. Paul A.M.E. Gladys Knight sang beautifully and is a classy lady. I love her comments about her childhood and praying in school.
Gladys Knight and the flyover were the only parts I watched. I figured she would do our Anthem justice. I’m not usually a fan of non traditional tunes for our anthem but she gave an absolutely stellar rendition.
I’ve never been a football fan so not watching didn’t represent any sacrifice on my part.
They don’t want sane people...
Sane people have a different agenda than do MSNBC and CNN...
He’s a little snot nosed boy compared to her.
