One eye open when I read that stuff but I got the impression if or once the legislature was in session it had several options “the people” could take to place or let someone remain in an acting or resumptive role until next election, or remove and replace as they felt necessary depending on circumstances.

It is and people have strong sentiments (well informed or not) on both sides. I favor it for two things, term limits and a balanced budget. Congress will never limit itself in such ways so that leaves it to the states to act.

My opinion is that the amendment process is there to be used. It is the proper way to change the foundation of the law when the law is no longer effective in protecting the rights of the states. The enemy doesn’t WANT to change the constitution they just want to ignore it. Congress IS the problem; they cannot be relied on to vote against their embedded interests.
