Is this a common argument on FR or something?

It is and people have strong sentiments (well informed or not) on both sides. I favor it for two things, term limits and a balanced budget. Congress will never limit itself in such ways so that leaves it to the states to act.

Absolutely. Congress will never vote to term limit itself. This must be Job One of the Convention ... more important than a balanced budget.
I always iked limiting Senators to two terms(12 years) and Reps to six terms (also 12 years). I’m sure everyone has different ideas.
