The North Carolina 3-year-old who vanished from his grandmothers backyard earlier this week said he spent his two days in the woods with a friendly bear.
Casey Lynn Hathaway was found alive just before 9:30 p.m. Thursday, bringing an emergency two-day search for the missing toddler to a close. Rescue workers were following up on a tip about a crying child when they discovered Casey about 40 or 50 yards into a wooded area, tangled up in some brush and calling out for his mother.
The boy had been missing since Tuesday, when he didnt come inside with the other children hed been playing with at his grandmothers house in Enrul, located about 100 miles southeast of Raleigh.
Caseys aunt, Breanna Hathaway in a Facebook post said her nephew was healthy, smiling and talking following his return late Thursday.
He said he hung out with a bear for two days, she wrote. God sent him a friend to keep him safe. God is a good God. Miracles do happen.

and there it is....a thread about a lost boy and a bear and some freepers need to inject their anti Catholic bigotry..
I thought bears were hibernating this time of year.
Personally, I don’t think a three year old would know the difference between a bear and a sasquatch....so it was more likely the later....
Maybe he was hiding in Balloon Boy’s barn.
Exactly
Why do you lie like that?
You claim to be a believer in the One True God? Don’t you know that bearing false witness against your neighbor is a sin?
Love the OBX! We usually stay in Duck.
Thanks for the bear info.
In my area we don’t see bears till early spring.
I admonish you to apologize.
“I forget the word offhand”
Chill is the word you’re looking for.
Not a conscience....he heard voices from the search party and cut his odds.
Looking at pics of that kid I rather doubt he was hip to any urban lingo.
The area he was found in was considered to be dangerous and they told search parties to stay clear. A professional search party ignored their advise and found the kid.
This reminds me of Sarah Whitcher’s Story. He could be telling the truth, the bear’s scent would have been on him.
Interesting construction. I think I know what it means.
definitely an occasion for “hmmm.”
In that book, I don’t recall reading about any that came back alive.
I haven’t read any books, listened to a few of his youtube interviews, etc.
He does have a few stories of kids found alive. The ones found alive have the “bear” story. And they are found very close, where people have searched and searched, or they are found an unattainable distance away; usually outside of a search grid area.
