Isn’t this a form of worry? That you don’t trust God to make things work out?
Even in fall 2008, when it looked like the whole financial system was going to collapse, everything worked out. Why? There’s too many vested interests, too many reeeeally rich people that want to keep it going, for society to collapse.
Plus, storable food is not really that healthy (look at all the chemicals) ... fresh is always best, why deprive yourself?

Plenty of scripture that God expects us to do our part.
Everything from "Do not put the Lord your God to the test."
to be a good steward, and "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children"
Joseph was commanded to store up food for the coming famine. I doubt he was worried.
Noah trusted God. He built an ark. IF you believe Gods Word then you know bad times are a coming. Man has always been expected to put forth SOME effort.
The great market crash of '29 was similar to 2008, things seemed better until the final market decay began in the early thirties, then the market was dead.
International economic failure then leads to war. The winds of war was present in the 30's, as it is now.
The dollar is in the process of falling out of being flagship currency... China and Russia are seeing to this. Know your history, and you'll know that '08 wasn't the end, but it could be considered the beginning of the end.
Learn how fiat currencies work/fractional reserve banking works, and you'll see they historically have a life span of under 100 years... by design.
I'm sure the English felt just like you, the flagship currencies was the Pound Sterling...now it's the Dollar.
Sometimes being naive does let you live without worry, until it doesn't.

There were plenty of people who lost everything when a little foresight and preparedness would have meant that they didn't.
