If you bled when you brushed your teeth this morning, you might want to get that seen to. We may finally have found the long-elusive cause of Alzheimer’s disease: Porphyromonas gingivalis, the key bacteria in chronic gum disease.
That’s bad, as gum disease affects around a third of all people. But the good news is that a drug that blocks the main toxins of P. gingivalis is entering major clinical trials this year, and research published today shows it might stop and even reverse Alzheimer’s. There could even be a vaccine.

What are they going to blame next, their MEDS caused my Receding gum lines right down to the root in front and shifting of teeth in the jaw. I’ve just had the 11 lower ones removed, along with bone spurs. Process started on Aug 9th I still have no lower denture. NO INFECTION, just DRYING AGENT MEDS that damaged the gums over several years. I had Perfect teeth until then.
I hear ya. A few years ago I went strictly stainless steel.
I told my dentist to stop fixing my teeth and pull them out as they start hurting. No teeth, no gum disease. I like potted meat and applesauce.
Years ago I knew a guy that sold pots and pans and used that analogy to scare people into buying his pots and pans made of stainless steel.

About five years ago, a former co-workers in the company I worked for told me he could remember events from three or five years ago but couldn’t recall events from three weeks ago.
I called him a year later and found his wife on the cell phone line. She told me her now-ex husband had been checked into a nursing home (at age 55.)
She said she divorced him to secure state assistance and to protect what little money they had for their kids education.
He’s gone now...
