Hulu is bumping their prices by $5. They just broke $40 for their package + live TV. Only reason why I was getting live TV was local news. Can't do an antenna (Apt building).
Anyone have any experience with other services? Sling, any others? Looking for Live TV as well.

A streaming digital television hour of old Monks is 2.25 GB. An hour of 4K video is about 8GB.
You can upgrade Spectrum/Charger to unlimited data for $30 more. The others have a similar charge.
Its far cheaper than cable plans and we get 75+ channels over the air from 50+ miles away (using a Marathon antenna indoors on our 2nd floor by the windowhavent put it on the roof, yet).
Have you thought about a Dish or Satellite for internet and/or TV?
What antenna did you use?
I read this as “Hell is raising it’s prices! Time to shop.”
Works though LOL!
Someone else in the thread may have already posted this (I’m too lazy right now to check), but if you have an HDTV you can get an HD antenna. HD antennas are indoor antennas and flat. Mine is 10 by 12 inches and about half an inch thick. It lies flat on a shelf. You can easily use it in an apartment.
Best video purchase Ive ever made, I believe.
Pluto(free) is an app on the ROKU that offers many free channels that are 'free stream.'
Conversely, Netflix or HULU or Amazon Prime.... are not ‘free stream,’ precisely because you have to pay for them.
One of the flat HD antennas. Issue is propagation at the source. Only three over-air channels available and none from any of the local nets.
Big fan of Roku. Every TV in my apartment has one.
I investigated DirectTVNow and am likely going to go that direction.
Hulu - Of course is Comcast. I dropped Netflix too when they hiked their prices. Nobody learns apparently.
We have ours near a window on our 2nd floor at the bottom of a four sided ravine. We are 55 miles from the main antenna farm location for for almost all channels, and we get 75+ channels.
We had a good 4G filtering Antop amplified indoor antenna when we lived eight miles closer, and that got 35, but was 1/3 the size or so and could be planted on our wall using Command Velcro strips. (We needed to cleanly remove it when we moved to our home.)
The circuit-head in me thinks this is very cool. The interior decorator of my small apartment wonders, “What will I do with an antenna that is the size of a small child?”
I plan on getting one of these, as long as I can use this indoors.
I love Pluto and they add new channels all the time.
It's going there, but the providers are kicking and screaming. for example, ESPN charges them an arm and a leg, and that would be one channel I would do without. Each channel should stand on it's own and charge what the market will allow. I see channels like BET offered on Spectrum, I don't want it nor should I pay for it.
That’s where I get confused. If our internet is provided through a data plan and every site we click on requires some data to decipher, how can a movie be streamed for free?
You just bought a new CanAm off road 4x4. Now we are discussing were the free trails to ride are. This analogy only works if you can imagine most off-road trails cost money to ride.
So, riding the free trails cost you money(the CanAm), but the free trail isn't charging you.
We have Dish for TV, Verizon for phones and internet. Both provide poor products for the money. That’s why I keep seeking alternatives.
We have gamers in the house (one works in the industry) so we need the fastest internet we can get ANYWAY. So if you already have fast speeds and good WiFi connections put in on your property, it is easy to stream anything to the TVs.
We also have dish network for grandma but Im not so sure we really need it when shes gone.
