Samsung has got a lot right with the Galaxy S10 and the company is so confident, it has already started to brag about the biggest upgrades. But has Samsung made one very critical mistake?

Picked up by the ever-reliable SamMobile, Samsung seems so pleased with the Galaxy S10 that it has priced the range sky high reaching almost $2,000.

And the sheeple will be lining up to buy one.

“People will still line up to buy it.”

Then, they have a heck of a lot more money to throw around then I do. I really think that a lot of that is status.

So, is this a contract phone and you buy minutes? Or stay with your same carrier and contract?

That cost twice what my high end Smart Sewing Machine did. NO way would I pay that for a phone, I get along just fine with the Note 4. Don’t use 3/4ths or more of the Crap they put on it.

Why can’t I order just what I want and need on a phone or Cable. Out of 350 channels might watch 20? Wouldn’t need cable if hubby wasn’t addicted to Nascar, tennis, or car restoring shows. Barrett Jackson I can understand, reliving his youth and some of the cars he owned used never could afford a new one on Military pay.

I wouldn't pay $2000 for a phone even if I was worth a billion.

Neither would I. If it were just a "phone."

Referring to today's mobile devices as a "phone" is a misnomer. I have an iPhone and 95% of what I do with it does not involve making or receiving telephone calls. The iPhone is my navigator, my camera, my video recorder, my calculator, my email application, my web browser, my PDF reader, my banking tool, my mapping tool, my method of payment, my music library, my book library (Kindle app), my reference source...I can go on an on.

Sometimes I forget about the phone part of my iPhone. As I only accept incoming calls from people in my address book, it's very quiet!

I have an I-Pad that gathers dust. I saw someone using a Microsoft Surface tablet once, it was running on Windows 10 I was impressed and had to have one. I don’t care a great deal for Windows but I have used it for a long time and it does work and I know how to get around in it. I bought the Surface Pro 2, then a Surface 3 then a Surface Pro 3. Like I said earlier the I-Pad is useless by comparison. I go nowhere without my Surface.

Several years ago while waiting in line at an ice cream store in SW Florida I saw a man sitting outside the shop with a Samsung Note, the original model. He was writing on it with a stylus and I was amazed at what it was doing, he demonstrated it to me. I went out and bought one and loved it, I had it repaired a few times then bought a Note 3, later a Note 4 and I now have the Note 8. I got the Note 8 for my wife and I both and we both love them. The extra features you have when you have the stylus are simply amazing. I know you won’t believe me but I can now do most of my email on the phone, it is large and fast enough to do so. I can take most pictures I need with the phone and you would never know they came from a phone, they have wonderful dynamic range and focus. They are only 12 Mega pixel but my Nikon D300 was only 12 mega pixel and I did weddings with that. The Note 8 has this crazy AMOLED screen that has brightness, contrast and beautiful colors, I’ve actually watched movies on airplane flights on it and been happy with it. It has blue tooth that allows you to hook up to multiple devices at the same time. The pen, it’s really all about the pen or stylus that is what sets the Note 8 apart.

I paid a LOT for the Note 8’s. They work VERY well, I’m happy. All the above being said I do not see myself ever being interested in a $2000.00 phone.

“Sounds like the tip top of the line model.”

also sounds like something that “Denish” on “Silicon Valley” would buy, continuously brag about around the office, and then have slip out of his shirt pocket and fall into a commode before the end of the episode ... meanwhile, “Guilfoyle” will have built his own waterproof one from scrap parts for $50.00 ... “Guilfoyle” then offers Denish $10.00 for his ruined one because “there’s a couple of parts in there that are still good” ...

When digital watches first came out they cost a fortune - a friend's father bought one for $3,000.

Two years later they were twelve dollars. Today you can get one in a crackerjack box...(well the last one’s an exaggeration...)_ So yeah, I wouldn't pay $2000 for phone if I was a billionaire either...

Smartphone Costs $2,000

Reminds me of an encounter I observed on an elevator ride.

A man is asking a hooker the cost. She told him, $500. His response was, what does it do?

They stopped reporting iPhone unit sales. They are going to go full Nokia in the next 12 months.

I remember when Nokia had a billion handsets on the market. “Who can make war with the beast?” was the question at the time.

Nokia’s share price has been flat around $5 to $7 a share for a long time now.

Apple won’t go out of business, but they likely won’t be a player much longer.

I’ve never owned an Apple product.

The phone I carry in my pocket cost 19 dollars. Works well.

It was a replacement for my old phone. We use verizon with a jet pack wifi because we live in rural Idaho. So all I did was buy the phone as a tool and they loaded everything on my old phone into it.

Nothing changed except my monthly bill went up 75 cents to cover the $18 bucks. We can pay it all off on the second month if we wish, or just let it ride at no interest.

With the opening proviso that I'm *cheap*, a phone that costs two grand had better come with automatic asswipers.

Modern smartphones are personal information integration devices that also just happen to make phone calls.
