Archaeologists in Egypt have identified an area in Taposiris Magna, around 18 miles from Alexandria, where they believe Mark Antony and Cleopatra (VII)'s bodies are.

The long-lost tomb of Mark Antony and Cleopatra will be "uncovered soon," historians in Egypt say.
Archaeologists believe they have identified the hidden location of the crypt in which they say the leaders are buried together.
"The long-lost tomb of Antony and Cleopatra will be eventually uncovered.
"The burial site has been finally estimated to be in the region of Taposiris Magna, 30km (18 miles) away from Alexandria," Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawass said.
The 71-year-old, who has vast experience in archaeology, added: "I hope to find the tomb of Antony and Cleopatra soon. I do believe that they are buried in the same tomb.
"We are so close to discover the accurate location of the tomb; we are on the right way.
"We know where exactly we have to dig."

Sadly, you are correct. We watch numerous classic movies beginning in the early 1930’s. Often there are stories about newspapers. From what I’ve gathered reporters have always been jerks. They probably did much more honest investigative journalism, but it was always sensational too. And the editors wrote opinion pieces and edited stories to suit a particular agenda.
What I see as different today is that like you said, all of it is a lie and they really don’t care if anyone calls them out or not. Journalists today are totally without honor.
As I read this I have that Bangles song “Walk Like an Egyptian” playing in my head!

I would play Mark Antony and Cleopatra would be Marie Osmond.
It would be a musical.
I’m working on the dance moves for the stabbing Caesar scene.
There will be a lot more hugging between Antony and Cleopatra.

So they haven’t actually discovered anything yet. Sounds like typical sensationalism from the hack Hawass.
