CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) Here comes a total lunar eclipse and supermoon, all wrapped into one. The moon, Earth and sun will line up this weekend for the only total lunar eclipse this year and next. At the same time, the moon will be ever so closer to Earth and appear slightly bigger and brighter than usual a supermoon. "This one is particularly good," said Rice University astrophysicist Patrick Hartigan. "It not only is a supermoon and it's a total eclipse, but the total eclipse also lasts pretty long. Thanks, FRiend! I caught the last flash as the eclipse completed and went back out to watch the beginning of the reveal - awesome! And the stars in the sky were something too - looked like they were pointing to the moon from three directions. I’ll have to go look up what stars were around besides Orion.
Equally awesome, driving home today by chance at just the right time in just the right place and direction, we got to watch the moon breech the horizon. And it was Hugely! Looked like a gold flying saucer or something lol. Beau-ti-ful.
