A new bar in Jersey City, N.J., is already racking up a bad reputation for displaying a dress code that was interpreted as racist.
The Ashford is a highly anticipated addition to the up-and-coming area, but its debut seems to have fallen flat during the first week, based on some reviews. And although a number of people have posted some semi-flattering comments about the food and interior of the speakeasy-style eatery, others couldnt get past a sign that was posted outside its front door.
Confused with the dress code, a Yelp reviewer named Sam K. wrote. My blonde female friend was allowed in with loose sweat pants but for some reason the other guys in our group (who happened to be black and wearing normal looking pants or at least we thought they were), were not allowed in and told by the bouncer they do not let people in pajamas in.
Sam went on to write that the official dress code wasnt hung outside the restaurant until after their visit, and that only stirred up more confusion, as it stated No gym sneakers even though some white men within the group had been granted entry wearing just that.

Dress codes are not applied to women, ever, unless it is very exclusive, this place isn’t one of those places.
Bars/clubs want women, they attract men, men will buy drinks, appetizers, spend money on the gals.
A bar full of men is a sausage fest, and the guys end up just getting drunk and causing trouble. And the clientele dwindles cause there are no women.
Dress codes fix this.
You're right. If it's 'no sneakers' it's got to be 'no sneakers' for anyone. Period. Real racial discrimination is offensive.
#20. I think these gentlemen would be welcome at the “Obama Gay Bar and Grill” but they would have to leave their knives and spears at the door.
{I would not want to be the security guy who had to pat them down for hidden weapons. Perhaps Obie would like to do it]
There is a technique being used by race baiting Jesse Jackson wannabe shake down con artists across the country.
This is part of the publicity phase these people use every time. Bars and restaurants are preferred targets.
False flag race crimes will begin to appear everywhere in town. Things like graffiti on minority owned businesses and "Nazi" propaganda appearing everywhere will become common.
The same locusts will likely be wearing masks created by working for various charities while secretly ripping those groups off too. Someone will approach the town board or other organization about the "racist" community and ask that money to combat racism be donated to some organization that they work for or are otherwise connected to. Inoculate your town board by presenting this to them to investigate when it starts in your community.
Ask that in San Fagsicko or the homo enclave that SD used to have?
The one in SD where the weather guy had a fag bar?
What about just “No Air Jordans”?
It sounds like they want to keep out the ghetto, barrio, and trailer park trash (no offense to trailer parks).
If it were my business I’d want the same thing.
How is that dress code racist? Im so sick of that word, it has no meaning any more. Everything is racist to these people.
Barack Hussein Obama would want to go to that kind of bar.
Check that white privilege.
If you’re white, you are racist.
If you are black, but talk white, you still have white privilege if folks can’t see you, and you are still a white racist.
Now, if you are black and what to kill all of the whites and exterminate all the Jews, you aren’t racist.
Given your comment - do you even know the difference between an under represented minority (URM) and a minority candidate who isn’t for an affirmative action hire? If you hire Asian men for a job, you are a white racist. They have to be Black, Hispanic, or Native American to count.
Traditionally there are different dress codes for the genders. For example ties required for men but not for women...but what to do about those who want to declare themselves a gender they dont appear to be?
Check out their website. Stong mention LGBTQ
