God rest her soul, and may Pat and his family be comforted today, and every day to come.
I can’t think of a better way to make an exit from this world than with your family standing around your bed singing hymns.
Gives me goosebumps just to think of it.
“I’ve parted with my better half for a little while.”
What a beautiful statement of faith.
I have the same wish for my beloved who is with the Lord.
As a baby boomer I have fond memories of Pat from movies and TV growing up. A beautiful age now gone. I will keep Pat in my thoughts and prayers along with with Shirley.
The Boone family is a blessing to the USA.
Rest in Peace Shirley............
RIP.
He had one of the best voices. Right up their with Elvis and Roy Orbison.
Im very sad for Pat Boone and their children although they are true believers in Christ. They will miss Shirleys earthly presence but know for certain she is in Heaven.
Sounds like she lived a wonderful life full of love.
She will now enjoy the unlimited pleasure and joys the garden of Christ gives.
We have one of Pat’s records with Shirley singing harmony. It is beautiful.
I doubt that there are many rock stars who have stayed married 65 years.
A classy Christian family.
Dear God, please continue to bless this family.
My condolences to Pat Boone. A decent man and an honest and true lover of America.
“by her bedside singing hymns to her as she passed”
Exactly how it was for my mom, only it was just me singing the hymns.
If I left her room, I would hear her calling out, so I stood there for several hours just singing to her.
Once in a while I’d lean in and hug her the best I could, lay my face against hers and tell her how much I love her.
As a teenager I often kidded Pat Boone about being a square. Later in life I wish I had been more like him as a youngster. I would have avoided a lot of self inflicted pain. RIP.
Its going to be hard for him, they were together for so long. They had heaven on earth

Red Foley’s daughter
Sad to hear. RIP.
He is gratuitously despised by hedonistic musicians.
Is he perfect? Definitely not. (Who is?) But he is not the Devil Incarnate for merely doing mainstream versions of others’ songs.
It does not make him a racist, no matter what they say (and they say a lot).
I actually think his more questionable conduct had to do with Rick Barry and the ABA.
I wish him well in his time of grief.
