The electric motorcycle that Harley-Davidson announced back in 2014 is finally hitting the market this year.
Since 2014, Harley-Davidson has been working on developing its first electric motorcycle; at the Consumer Electronics Show on Monday, the company announced that the 2020 LiveWire model is finally available for pre-order before its official August launch.

Yep, when it becomes the high performance leader, they’ll have trouble building them fast enough.

Who wants a bike that doesn’t go...rooom roooom Maybe a quarter of the electric power goes to loudspeakers to give the desired noise level...

It’s not the voltage that kills you, it’s the amps. I’ve been hit by 20,000 volts several times.

I predict a flop. Probably, but it'll be a collector's item, that's for sure.

"...when it becomes the performance leader..."
Engineers will need to discover a way to give it sufficient range so that a couple could take it to the mountains or to the beach overnight with plenty of charge in reserve. Range is too short at this proposed pricepoint.
Agree with you on performance. We know electric motors generate outrageous amounts of torque and capable of tremendous acceleration.
Such fast acceleration, in fact, that a rider would need to be judicious with the throttle.
Curious what engineers from HD / BMW / Honda / Kawasaki / Yamaha / Suzuki / KTM / Triumph develop in the coming years.

It is not the motor that makes the noise. Apparently you didn’t see the episode on South Park about Faggots.

The bikes in Megaforce did the electric stealth thing during a scene.
Last weekend my Willys jeep conked out close to home. It was at the top of a hill very close to home.
I was able to push it and coast to the driveway. It still rattled a lot. I passed a couple of people walking. They were amused.
Simple electric fix. Took a few minutes to fix. Some decrepit wiring still present.

My preference is riding aware, in helmet / full leathers / boots / gloves, very loud aftermarket horn, and remarkably bright lights.
