The Donkeys have to battle a losing perception/persuasion battle but also battle an increasingly hostile government employee interest group. The longer the shutdown lasts, the more pressure is put on the Donkeys, not the GOP.

That’s true. They were obviously trying to deflect from border crisis to Government Shutdown-bad and Orange man’s fault-not ours.

Anyone with half a brain knows that the only leverage Trump has is the shutdown. And they know he can’t give up that leverage without getting at least a big part of what the border patrol says it needs.

Answer is simple-compromise and give the orange man a another Billion or so for the wall, and adjust the proposal by reducing the foreign aid dollars-let them do without their walls or pay for them with their own tax dollars.

Ran across a decent analysis about the speech and Dumbo Duo’s response from Bill Bloviator-Ha no kidding-maybe he’s a bit more humble now? I was most interested to hear what he had to say about the DEM response-Any way, worth a listen:

There is a cool meme on Facebook: Build The Wall on a red background. My relative shared it and one of her friend’s commented that she was disappointed in my relative.

I shared the meme and posted a comment about the Secure Fence Act of 2006. I asked what happened to the funding and if the fence was ever built. I remember talk about the fence but seemed it stalled out. She told me it was easy to find out. LOL True but the first results were not people I trust.

Anyone know an article or source to definitively say what happened? In my experience it was good for talk, posturing and reelection but nothing ever came of it. Call me lazy (or inept or short on time and patience). Thanks for help.

I somewhat agree that his talk could have benefited from more details of the horrors that illegals do. I’m not sure about ultra graphic, but defintely the serious sexual abuse and slavery of children, huge number of rapes of children and adults (both men and women), deaths of the previous, and torture and murders of LEOs, vets. Could have had a more punch; but I can see some reasoning in the way he presented the information.

Reason? To open the eyes of those who are blind. Those who are not blind to this learned nothing new, but there are some (unknown number) who know nothing. Since the majority of Americans DO want border security which includes wall/fence/impassible barrier, he really needed to make it clear to the blind that there are HUGE problems.

For such blind ones, extremely graphic stuff might likely seem exaggerated or not truth, Spoon feeding is necessary at times. Once they digest some spoon feeding, then they can handle the tough to chew stuff.
